Hi everyone. I received this great card from Dragonslair the other day. I was on vacation and didn't get the mail for a week, so I apologize for the delay!

Hi Kikigirl. Glad you like the card!

It looks like the bottom of it got ripped a bit in the mail. Boo mailman.

This was a fun swap, but it looks like some are still in the mail... not many posted here in the gallery yet.

I have one yet to receive, but I think it's been mailed so I'm just waiting on Mr. Postman.

Today I received this from Kiki Girl:

The front:

And the back:

And I got this from Yooper Hill:

Along the bottom, under the stamped women it says: Letter carrier - which is your fav 1, 2 or 3 (Circle one) Or are you chicken?

All three were circled, so ... um... I guess it's a split decision! <P>

Thanks both of you, these cards are great!

6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Random Acts of Strangeness Postcard Swap Part III on: July 19, 2006 08:06:40 AM
I'm mailing cards today to: dragonslair, kikigirl, mayerlove and (I don't know your craftster name) Yooper Hill.

This was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to receiving the other cards (Already got one from Mayerlove).

I received a card Saturday from Mayerlove... and it's pretty strange!

Way to go!  Grin Grin Grin

I didn't see a gallery set up, so I thought I'd post here!  I'll move it if there's a gallery I missed.
The card is made of a novel page wrapped around a cardboard, then with items glued down, and packing tape over the whole thing. Great technique!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Bowling Ball into Gazing Ball on: July 13, 2006 06:28:11 AM
I saw this project posted by evildeadgirl - who showed a pic of her mother's crafty goodness with bowling balls. I was so inspired, I had to do it myself!

I hit the right day at Saver's thrift store, and got the bowling ball for $2.50 and the stand for $1.  I used some pearlized paint I had laying around to pre-paint the ball, then used E6000 glue to stick hundreds of blue (and some clear) marbles to the ball.  That was the tough part - because they wanted to slide away before the glue was dry. I had to work in patches.

What I'd do differently next time: I didn't realize that evildeadgirl's mom had put the marbles really tight next to each other. I spaced mine out - which looks okay, but isn't as cool as having them really tight.

I remember seeing piles of Mardi Gras beads at Saver's too... so I'm thinking the next gazing ball I do might be covered in those beads.

I've got three of my four cards made, but I want to laminate or somehow cover the cards, so they don't come apart in the mail. That wouldn't be any fun at all!

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help rescue stinky bag of cards on: July 06, 2006 06:58:58 AM
Thanks for the charcoal idea! I never thought of that.

Yes, I am looking forward to using the images on other projects - and reusing the envelopes for the cards I create.  I suppose the smell would dissipate off an envelope as it goes though the mail, but I'd hate to have my recipent get a stinky envie. Ick.
