1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knit Mukluks on: July 21, 2007 02:54:49 PM
I stumbled across these a couple of weeks ago and really liked them..

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What was your first project? on: July 19, 2007 07:35:57 PM
my first project was a sweater for my then 1 y/o son.  I finished it and tried to put it on him and he screamed bloody murder!!!  The neck was bound off too tight and I cut into the stitches trying to get to the seam (it was a hoodie) to rip back.  I never fixed it but its hanging in my closet next to the one I made after that, that he did  wear for a while!  Despite the fact I couldn't get the thing on him (and I probably neglected everyone I was so enthralled knitting it) I was thrilled that I had actually KNIT A SWEATER.  I haven't stopped since! Grin

Yay!!  I luurrve these socks!

I used KPM size three addi turbo circs.

the pattern is Embossed Leaves Socks by Mona Schmidt in IK winter 2005 issue.

They fit soooooo well and were not hard to knit at all.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knitting lace in the round? Help please! on: June 20, 2007 05:51:21 PM
Help!  I'm through the first 16 row lace patt for the embossed leaves socks from IK winter 2005 and it doesn't look quite right.  The sock is (of course) knit in the round.  They only give a chart for the pattern and I've been reading
round 1:  right to left
round 2:  left to right
round 3:  right to left....

is this right?  Or should I be working right to left on all rows of the chart since I'm working in the round?

Seeing all these scarves is making me want to knit some for my kids for the fall.  I live in Gwinnett county, where that lady has made national news trying to ban the books from schools.   Roll Eyes  Sending my kids to school with these scarves would be AWESOME!

I wanted to knit a Weasely sweater before the movie came out, but I don't think thats gonna happen. Undecided

I hunted for a vneck raglan calculator and all I could find was this:

I hope that helps in some way.
