1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Welcome To Night Vale Swap on: May 27, 2015 09:56:15 PM
I received my package last week but I didn't open it til I was ready to send too. bethimusprime and I agreed to exchange gifts with a focus on utility, and this package couldn't have been more perfect for that. Two plates with WTNV quotes and two headbands in WTNV colors. There isn't anything in the pics for scale but these are full-size heavy-duty dinner plates.

What did you use to write on the plates, bethimus? You said they claimed to be dishwasher safe - does that mean they're food safe also?

Here is a detail of the headbands. I provided my head size on a whim and these came out perfect, with just the right amount of stretch to stay on but still comfortable.

Thanks bethimusprime!

I may be late sending.  For some reason I was sure that we had until 5/29 to send... wishful thinking I guess? Oops. But I have all the materials and a firm plan. If it doesn't go out Friday it will for sure when the post office is open Tuesday.

I think I have all my materials - and I got extras in case I muck it up once or twice!

I have vague ideas only, as of yet. I will have to visit a thrift store and see what I can dig up for raw materials.
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: OTBT - One Tiny Bird Thing - GALLERY on: May 06, 2015 07:36:09 PM
I received a cute little ruby-throated hummingbird ornament yesterday from Wile E Songdog:

Such fun stitching around the seams. Thanks!

I though I'd offer a clearer pic of the shrike hoop -

And a closeup of the grasshopper -

I'm all caught up to the feed and live shows through the librarian (which I saw live!).  I admit I don't have the crossover ep(s?) lol.
But yeah,  I hear you about " best of". I just listened to it in the car. Lots of feelings,  not sure what kind exactly though. ..

Wow, so many cool things in here already! I try not to look at the gallery until I've already sent mine to head off swap anxiety. I love the inchies and the stuffed assemblage bird, and the quilling, and all the little amigurumi-style cuties too. Smiley
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: OTBT - One Tiny Bird Thing Swap (SU CLOSED; SO 4/30/15) on: April 30, 2015 12:43:16 PM
All ready to send, and my crafts fit into a standard envelope so I can't put tracking on it. :/

If you are sending in the US, you can use certified mail with no return receipt/signature required, which gives you a tracking number. It's only a couple of bucks.

I've definitely been there, ChameleonHound.

I am moving into the home stretch, so to speak, but it might end up being a tight race or possibly a one day delay. I sort of... forgot that a key piece of the pie has to be made separately and then stuck on to the main part. Or, well, in my head there was a space on the project flowchart that was labelled "and then the extra bit gets stuck on and that will be really quick" but without the supporting part including when and how to make the bit. So I've got my marching orders for tomorrow - wish me luck! Smiley
