I make fabric-wrapped martingale collars for dogs. Overall, they're very durable under normal circumstances. But for a dog that pulls a lot (like my own), I'm noticing wear coming on pretty quickly in one area. How can I stop the metal pieces from wearing the cotton fabric down and leaving the webbing exposed? I interface the front piece of fabric with Pellon 809 interfacing. That side doesn't have an issue. But it's already hard to sew all the layers of cotton, interfacing, and polypropylene webbing. When I tried to interface both front and back it was too stiff and even harder to work with. I'm wondering if I should interface that side with a different weight Pellon? Use sliders instead of square metal loops? Any help appreciated.
