12  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / PROVISIONAL CAST ON- QUICK QUESTION on: May 13, 2008 05:10:46 PM
I JUST REALIZED THAT I MADE A MISTAKE IN THE FIRST ROW OF MY WORK

I WAS PLANNING ON TAKING OUT THE FOUNDATION ROW AND CONTINUING DOWNWARD SO I MADE A PROVISIONAL CAST ON

WHEN I TAKE THE STITCHES OFF THE FOUNDATION ROW CAN I GO BACK 2 ROWS TO FIX MY DECREASES? THOUGH I ASSUME THEY MIGHT COME OUT UPSIDE DOWN

13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / using cotton/elastic yarn on: May 09, 2008 03:29:40 PM
what are some good stitch patterns to use when using cotton/elastic yarn (I have elann esprit). I have a very hard time with it because the stitch definition sucks something terrible and one of my balls is in a varigated color (but I plan to use thati n a solid hdc stitch). any ideas?
14  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I need testers.... on: May 04, 2008 08:36:37 PM
hello, I just wrote a pattern and I need a couple of people to test it for clarity. It is a bikini pattern, written for a size small (my own, I will make more afterwards   Roll Eyes ). It will fit up to a C cup (which is my size) on top and up to 35" in the hips. I don't have a picture but it's designed to have good coverage on top and the bottom is shorts.

if you are interested please pm me so I can email you the file.

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / best cotton yarn? on: March 06, 2008 03:08:16 PM
Hey, I know a lot of you are budget-nistas, so please let me know...

What is the best/cheapest brand of cotton/cotton blend yarn? I want need to make a series of tanks and halters (yes, I will release patterns) but I am very broke, so anything over $2.99 for at least 300yds is way out of my budget! (yes, I am that cheap!) Thanks.

ETA: Has anybody tried elann sonata? how is it?

ETA: I want yarn that will make something similar to this, though I would prefer a slightly larger gauge:

16  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Taking Pictures on: February 11, 2008 04:35:52 PM
I'm going to sell patterns for clothing including bathing suits, etc.
While I don't mind modeling the things I make or wearing them in public,
I don't feel comfortable modeling the skimpier clothing for obvious reasons.
However I don't have a mannequin nor can I afford one.

What can I do to take good quality pictures of my stuff without having to wear them?

18  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / hip hop theme? on: December 24, 2007 05:55:20 AM
so, hopefully pretty soon i will be putting up a crochet pattern site to sell the designs that i make. they are very different, because well i design things that most people would classify as club attire. a lot of the ideas i get are indeed inspired by hip hop fashion and etc, but should i push that?? i know that not everyone in the world likes hip hop and so it won't be appealing to everyone that might like what i make. if not, what other kind of theme could i put my patterns to?
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / what to do with glittery pink yarn on: November 03, 2007 09:37:17 AM
i have about 4 balls of this pretty, sparkly pink yarn (its called adriafil chic, i think its discontinued  Sad ) ive knit it and unknit it a million times already because i dont know what to do with it. I really want to make a shrug with it, but I don't have the circular needles for it. (I do have a size 6 circular, but its only like 12" long) Any ideas??
20  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / 80's glamour girl on: October 25, 2007 04:26:03 PM
So I want my halloween costume to come right out of the 80's...
the big hair i can do (its undoing it that's the problem  Cheesy)
and i think im pretty set about the outfit-

neon leggings (preferably pink)
bright plastic hoops/bangles
lots of body glitter (which always finds a way into my costumes)
bright pink lipstick & blue eyeliner
i'll probably wear flats since theyre cheaper but i might get heels

BUT my only problem is what to wear over the leggings. I want to wear either a drapey, off the shoulder jersey tunic/dress or an off the shoulder sweatshirt, but I dont know where to find it/ how to make it... any ideas??
