I'm ready for Round 5 too!

Here are two houses that I received as personal Chunky House Swaps

Stunned Banana

Isn't she gorgeous?  I've loved this little portrait that Stunned has done for the longest time and surprise, now she's mine!

Carrieme

I loved getting this one over the holidays and of course - she made me something French.  Tres Chic, No?

22  First ATCs in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by parisgirl on: February 11, 2010 07:32:28 AM
It took me nearly 2 years to finish this set.  I thought ATC's would be easy because I'm always making cards and altered paper projects but I couldn't finish the last two cards!  It was driving me crazy.  I was going with a Queen theme and had a ton of Christmas stamps (think Mary as the Queen of Heaven) but no matter what I couldn't get my victorian lady and right.  Finally I'm happy with them and I've learned a lesson - just because you are working small doesn't mean it's going to be easy.

Now I guess it's time to try inchies.

23  Encaustic in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by parisgirl on: February 10, 2010 08:42:45 AM
I finished the painting of this little encaustic but then I ran out of the clarified wax I need to give it a finished, protective coat.  But until I get more of the wax this is the pretty much the final work.  It's from a picture I took of the Sacre Coeur in Paris.  Sorry about the glare.

It's pretty small

These are my last two house that have arrived at their destinations but missed the gallery.  I hope it's okay I posted the pictures.

If I had it to do over I think I would have taken  pictures rather than scanned them.  The scanner can make things look fuzzy.

I'm ready for round 5!!!

26  Encaustic in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by parisgirl on: August 03, 2009 06:37:36 AM
This is my first encaustic.  It's 8 x 8 and I mixed the "paint" myself with beeswax and oil paint.  I just hope I haven't been breathing in all sorts of toxic fumes as I've been working.

29  Re: Antoinette Paper Doll in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by parisgirl on: July 24, 2009 05:51:59 AM
I used patterned paper, I think I bought it at JoAnns.  It looks like a photo of rose buds, and I just cut out the inner part of the rose so it looks like her hair is a curled mass one on top of another.

30  Antoinette Paper Doll in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by parisgirl on: July 23, 2009 01:38:10 PM
I made this pictures for a Swap I did last month and since my partner received I think it's okay to share it with the paper gang.

I made the paper doll from a dover design (costume clip art) collection and then mounted it on a canvas I coved with gel medium and stamped into.  I found the cake stickers in a wedding scrapbooking collection and colored them with markers.  The finished picture is 9 X 12 inches.  I'm really happy with it.
