Check out this amazing house I received from Smmarrt!

The texture is fantastic and I love the eyes lurking in the attic.  What did you use for the plank effect on the roof and house?  I love it, is it a type of tape?

Okay, I've lived in my new place for nearly a month!  After finding my camera and not the cable, and then finding my cable but totally loosing my camera I now have (clear) pictures of my chunky houses!!!

First from TheSavoyTruffle

I love the use of lace and the Paris street map as background.

Then there is this one from PumpkinKelly based on her best friends house in Sugar Land, Texas

This house has lovely papers and fibers.  The back says Happy times remembered and as someone who just moved I need to keep that in mind when I get homesick.

The last one is from sweetyetevil

I'm really inspired by the chunky red roof - I may have to incorporate that into my Halloween chunky houses.  And the Owl, makes me think childhood walks in the woods.

Thanks everyone!

I have a house from TheSavoyTruffle to post.  I'm sorry about the quality of the scans.  My camera has gone MIA but I'll see if I can't edit this post for better shots once it turns up again.

The front of the house has lots of chunky bits, pearl rain drops, buttons and a bird perched on the window.  It reads on the front Here Comes the Sun (one of my favorite songs) and the back has a map of Paris with lace raindrops falling on a beautifully drawn woman, who in truth looks exactly like me.   Behind the door is a ticket to a party...just for me!

Thank you SavoyTruffle

Kartinana's house arrived!  Isn't it lovely and colorful?

I'm in love with this tag and envelope on the back and her use of postage and rubber stamps.  What language is the print?  Also on the bottom of the house there is green grass, seriously she trimmed up some grass for my house!

6  Fiber Encaustic in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by parisgirl on: May 14, 2010 09:35:49 AM
This is my most recent encaustic painting.  I started with beeswax as base and added greens, turquoise and peach.  Next I added a substantial amount of beeswax and ocre and then heated the wax until the colors underneath came through.  Lastly I added my fibers and started carving for texture.

Here they are...did I miss any of them?  Let me know if you don't want me to use one of your images in the collage and I'll modify.

I'm so impressed with everything thing but the white rabbits are priceless!

8  Little Chairs in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by parisgirl on: April 29, 2010 01:37:54 PM
I wish I have before and after pictures, unfortunately all I have are after.  I re-made this set of chairs from my childhood using mod podge, paint and fun bug wrapping paper.

Here are close-ups of the bug designs.

9  First Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by parisgirl on: April 29, 2010 01:29:15 PM
This is the first purse I've made.  It was woven on a child's size loom and then sewn by hand.  As you can see it's really basic, a braided strap and lined with a simple rayon pocket. Mmmm...it's a trick trying something new, but maybe I'll evolve into harder projects if I feel like this one is going to hold together.

but it turned out to be a perfect light weight summer purse.

10  Jane Austen Paper Doll in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by parisgirl on: April 29, 2010 01:24:42 PM
It's not the picture, her features are really light yet, I was really surprised at how this Jane Austen paper doll came out.  I feel like I should do more with her, but I'm just thrilled that her face and hair are recognizable.
