1  Mini Coffins in Halloween Decor and Parties by dawnkatdead on: September 09, 2013 12:37:53 PM
This is the first that I've posted in an actual thread. I've been posting in the Newbie craftalong, but I think it's pretty safe to "fly" out into the world  Wink

A friend of mine wanted something a little different to decorate her store. I had started a bigger one, and she liked it! So she and her son asked if I would make some for their front window. I still have 4 more to do, but I must say I'm pretty happy with the way these 2 came out. They are both the smaller coffins I found at Micheal's, I think they're 4".

The one on the left is a "simple" coffin, the one on the right has a special surprise inside. Both are stained with Tim Holtz distress stains. I never knew about this stuff until recently! I LOVE EM'

Pretty simple. Awesome paper I found at the local overstock scrapbook store here (I love that place). The rose was with the 3D Haunted portrait stickers. Just thought it looked pretty.

The harlequin design goes all the way around

Originally we were both thinking about doing an actual liner, probably will eventually, but for now this will do  Grin

This one has a special surprise inside. I love these stickers. We have a few of the actual haunted portraits. Thought they would go well with the coffins

Back. I didn't do this on the simple, thought it might be too much

This border also goes all the way around.

And the surprise on the inside! Maybe grave robbers got to the other bits  Grin

I knew that the skeletons would not fit into the coffin whole, so I cut them up. I placed all the pieces in at first, but thought it was too busy. So I just chose bits and pieces.

All done with the Man Cave sign! Well almost anyway. I still have to put the screws, and the wire on, but done painting.

I finished one other project. But I think I may post that one in the paper craft section  Grin

These are the projects that I'm working on now.

It will soon be a Man Cave sign. A friend of mine is an avid hunter and asked if I could make him a Man Cave sign for his garage. Since hunters wear camo I thought I'd give it a go trying a "camo" paint.

My best friend just moved in with her boyfriend and is currently in the process of making the house less of a bachelor pad. And I thought that these would help make the kitchen start to fell like hers. There is a 3rd one that will say "Tattoo Fund" but I haven't had a chance to stencil it. This is also the first time that I have used the Plaid Peel and Stick letter stencils, and I really like them

And one more. I've been painting mannequin heads for my friend to use a displays in her shop. The shop is all sorts of different things, steampunk, goth, punk, ect. So she asked if I could do a mannequin head for the steampunk stuff. Still trying to figure out the lips

Finished heads

Here are the 3 signs that I have finished.

This on I made for my mom. Gave it to her and she loves it! She doesn't want to put it down in the basement just yet, since it's geting close to Fall. Sorry sbout the darkness. I have a lighter picture somewhere

Not really Halloweenie, but I made this for my friend to put in her new shop. I thought it fit perfectly in with her them (Shop's called Warped) and it fits her and her son perfectly as well

Last of the completed ones. This is the first stencil sign I made a few years ago. It proudly sits on my breakfast bar year round
