1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / "Armed to the Teeth" - Woodblock Print on: March 21, 2008 09:00:37 PM
So, since I should have done this awhile ago, here's one of my woodblock prints:

"Armed to the Teeth"
16" x 20" Woodblock

This isn't the best image (it's a bit washed out) but this is definitely one of my favorite prints.  Instead of woodblock tools, I used a Dremel for the whole thing, and it easily shortened my work time by a few days.  It's three blocks and only took me two days to cut all three of them.  I think my favorite thing, though, is that Mr. T Rex can't even use the guns the way he's holding them.  Cheesy

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Kitten-Sweater! on: January 11, 2007 12:07:15 PM
Someone in this house has a brand new sweater!

I modified a pattern from the book "Puppyknits" to fit her.  She's skinny and has short fur, so sometimes she gets cold.  She seems to like her new sweater, so yay!

Date to send item by: 03/15/06

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): Nope

Non-U.S. participants allowed? Sure

All ages allowed? Or 18+?  All ages, but ask the folks first!

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:
If you have a sweet tooth, this is the swap for you!  Doughnuts, Cupcakes, Ice Cream, Cookies, Chocolates, any sweet treat is welcome!  We will be swapping One Large or Two Medium items.

Additionally, I'm using some of PinkMafia's rules:

1. If this is your first swap please read: (http://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html) to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

2. You must post on this thread. A simple I'm in! or whatever will suffice. This is so I'm certain you get all messages.

3. I will be giving feedback in the following way:

great swapper- for those who follow all the rules
Did not thank partner or pm organizer when package was received- for those with bad manners
Poor communication- if you don't respond to my pm's but have been logging on to craftster
Shipped Late (w/ poor communication, or if over 1 week late w/ or w/out communication)
Did not purchase DCN (unless you are not in US)

5. Please put "Sweet Treats Swap" in the title of all PM's ( I get lots so and sometimes it gets confusing.)

6. Please make an item that you would like to receive. Do some research on your partner.

7. Everyone must be willing to ship internationally. Its only a few bucks more.

8. If your package is too thin please stuff with plastic bags so you can get a DCN. If you are out of the US save your receipt, this is proof you shipped. You will not be given credit as shipped if you don't have the receipt and will receive negative feedback.

9.  And if you're going to send "extras" PLEASE discuss it with your partner first, I'd rather everyone just send one or two high quality items, and I don't want any "swap anxiety" caused by you overachievers.   Tongue

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?
What's your favorite sweet treat(s)?
What can you make (please list thing you can do well):
What would you like to receive?
Favorite colors/patterns/textures/materials, etc.
Anything else to add:

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / What I ended up doing (a.k.a the "All Your Base" card!) on: February 14, 2006 04:30:38 PM
So, we don't really celebrate valentine's day, so I just made him a card.  I THINK I got the idea from someone else on here, but I can't figure out who!  Anyways, this is the front...

And this is the inside:

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Themed One Tiny Thing Swap? on: January 23, 2006 10:49:25 AM
Okay, so basically, a harmonious combination of themed swaps and the OTT swaps.  I was thinking, they'd basically be a two-month themed kinda thing, with signups beginning at the start of the first month, and sendout at the beginning of the second month.  So, for example:

February/March - Love or Luck swap (loosely based on St. Val's and St. Pat's, but more open)
Sign-ups Feb 1 to Feb 15
Mail-outs March 1

All the themes I've thought of are somewhat based on what happens during those two months, but I wanted to leave them vague enough to allow for lots of artistic license:

Feb/March - Love or Luck - St. Val's or St. Pat's, Hearts, Pink & Red, Green, Shamrocks, Horseshoes, etc.
April/May - Showers and Flowers - Rain, clouds, umbrellas, flowers, trees, spring colors, etc.
June/July - Sand and Sun - Suns, beachy stuff, palm trees, fancy summer cocktails, outdoor recreation/garden

and so on.

I'm certainly open to everyone's opinions/suggestions on the themes, and there's a possibility that, if enough people are interested, it could be a TWO tiny thing swap.  What do you think?
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Fancy-pants earring holder *Updated!* on: August 12, 2005 02:47:13 PM
I *always* leave my earrings lying about, so I needed some visible place to put them.  And, as luck would have it, Target had a sale on picture frames  Smiley

I think it's very pretty hanging in my living room! Hehe, wire mesh looks weird in photos though, huh?

*EDIT*  I made another one this afternoon, and I love zebra.  Plus, this one solves the problem of where to put the necklaces.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Circle skirt w/ Pink Tulle and Zebra Apron on: June 28, 2005 07:46:20 PM
I haven't sewn clothing in about 8 years, so I was pretty pleased with myself when this worked

the back (thanks for telling me it was crooked, oh boyfriend of mine  Wink )

I took the leftovers and some fabric with tiny zebras and made an apron, too.
