I'm of no help cause I'd be totally tempted too Wink

In my old guild, lots of the ladies had baby wolf looms and always had wonderful things to say...

good luck resisting the urge Smiley

13  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: What do you guys do while you spin? on: July 31, 2007 01:13:19 PM
If I'm spinning outside, I'm keeping an eye (and ear) out with the kids play.  If inside and its during the daytime, I've got the ipod on only stopping and looking around if the kids yell louder than Jeff Tweedy or Dave Matthews or Tori Amos (my favorite spinning tunes Smiley ).  If its evening (meaning the hubby is home from work), the tv is on.  could be a movie.  could be mythbusters.  could be anything Smiley  well, except one of the shows deemed "one of mom's shows."  we never watch those when I'm spinning cause I can't keep one hand on the remote to keep the channel from getting changed Smiley

Chipper, what yarn do you find that your symphony spins the best?  I was looking at ratios and all that (which I still don't fully understand...)  and it seems like it would spin thin pretty well.

I've only had a chance to spin some merino from my stash with it, but I did get it thinner than I normally to with my Louet.  I'm not one for understanding ratios either unless I really strain my brain Smiley   Mostly, I just grab some fiber and spin away the stress Smiley

Oh wait, I did spin some llama while at the festival.  I got darn near thread out of that!  Smiley  well, ok so thread compared to my usual stuff Wink

Congrats!  I got a Symphony on Sunday.  I took the kids and hubby to a fiber show and he surprised me with the wheel.  I LOVE it very much.  It is fantastic to spin with.  Can't wait to see pics of your yarn!

So, I thought I should finish spinning and plying the fiber on the Louet before I had any more fun with the Kromski so here's my finished skeins for today

Here is some merino that the owner of my LYS dyed herself.  There is about 4 oz and I got 110 yards of 2-ply

This is the Dandylion, Spunky Fiber of the Month.  I had 4 oz and got 158yards of 2-ply out of it (the most yardage I ever got out of 4 oz of fiber!!!)

and now, to go play with the Kromski!  My kids don't need to eat, right?  Wink

I know that I haven't been posting many pics of my Tour spinning, but I've just been proud of myself for actually doing the spinning.  The picture taking seems to be beyond me Smiley

BUT,  The fam and I went to a fiber fest yesterday.

Did Chipper spin? are you wondering?

Oh yes, Chipper spun!

Chipper spun llama and it was heavenly.

Chipper spun on a new wheel that made her smile and sigh so peacefully, that her wonderful, fantastic, super husband couldn't resist the call of the wheel

Yup, (here I'll stop referring to myself in the third person cause it's starting to creep me out Wink ) That there is my new wheel in my back yard.  I also got a bit of the llama fiber from the man who I bought the wheel from cause he said that my face was radiant while spinning it and I'd need it to get used to my new wheel.  Since the hubby was treating me to a new wheel, I decided to throw in a bag of bison cause, well, if I was going to be spoiled, I may as well be spoiled big, right?  Smiley

Even though, I haven't been posting pics of my spinning, I really have been loving all the pics of your spinning.  I want to pet every single one of them! Smiley

Here's a pic of the Monster Mash yarn that my kids helped me spin

Here's a pic of two of the kids with the wheel (the third one wanted nothing to do with the camera today, go figure Smiley )

and here's a close up of the hat that I knit for the monsters, I mean kids Smiley

The yarn stats are 4oz of hand painted falkland, Spunky FOTM Club, October 06, called Monster Mash.  I have no idea what kind of yardage we got out of it (darn that missing niddy noddy)

Now we're off to spin some for another hat Smiley
