I am verryyyyyy tempted to join this swap!! Will think it over the next few days....
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / satin stitched stag head. on: Today at 05:54:19 PM
It is not very often I complete crafts for myself, but with this piece I was super motivated (read: sick in bed almost all week and literally couldn't do anything but stitch!) and I am so excited to get to keep it for myself!

I started off by seeing something similar on pinterest, finding a stag head silhouette, sectioned it off, decided on my colour scheme and went from there. I've never done this much satin stitching in my life, let alone on one project!! I definitely noticed my stitching getting a lot neater as I progressed, though I still think I have a long way to go to get it as smooth as I want it to be.

I really like the delicate white on white background, it stops the empty space looking too empty, without detracting from the embroidery.
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-2015 on: Today at 05:47:36 PM
This is my first time posting a completed hoopla in this craft a long! I had actually started it before looking in on this thread but it fit the prompt perfectly. I've been off work sick the past few days and have been in bed stitching like mad all day every day! I've never done this much satin stitching before in my life, let alone on one project. I am super happy with how it turned out and think the colours all work really nicely together.

I got a great package from Bow and Sparrow!
First up,this great fabric moth. I think I am going to attach a pin to it and wear it as a brooch!

These wonderful little curiousities came in a glass jar that unfortunately shattered on it's way too me. It's a little blurry but I think the conjoined skele twins are my favourite.

She also sent me a great mixed media piece that unfortunately also broke. It will be an easy fix, but I will leave it to Bow and Sparrow to post a photo of how it is supposed to look.

Thanks Bow and Sparrow for a great first package, and welcome to the very addictive world of swapping!

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Next hoopla round on: March 01, 2015 11:12:01 PM
I missed out on the last round and am determined not to miss out again! My main summer activity is sitting in my underpants in the dark and waiting for it to cool down, but luckily for me autumn has just begun! Theme may be a slightly tricky one for me, but I am sure I can make it work!!

Yay Bow and Sparrow I am so glad it made it to you in one piece! (almost, the brain that is sitting on the electric guys knee should be next to the axe by the dead girl.... never thought that'd be a sentence I'd type!!) I am so happy you like it all, I really wanted to give you a fun first swap experience. It is very addictive!
And thanks everyone for the kind words, I had loads of fun making both pieces.
Excellent package!  They guy in the electric chair is the creepiest...but it's partly due to his inmate number says "BOOB" Grin
Oh my goodness, I didn't even notice that! I think I was too distracted by his cute face. I'm in hysterics!!

Wow, how could you give up all those little awesome items? Love it.
I'm one of those weird people that would rather give things away than keep them for myself. The only thing I struggled to use was the pan am ticket. It was a flight to kuala lumpur, back when there was still smoking sections on planes.(Anyone know how long ago that was? I can never remember a time when smoking was allowed on planes!!) I have no idea how that ticket ended up in a second hand book in australia, but I love it!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Masquerade on: January 20, 2015 07:14:33 PM
This is spectacular! The juxtaposition of the petit point and your unique style for the incredibly creepy and realistic eyes makes for such an intriguing piece. I'm in love with this!

Can I please steal just a quarter of your talent? I'm so envious of your abilities.
