Got my shop up, so glad to be back, I looove this swap!  I really need to get to crafting soon, I've been slacking.  I just read through the discussion a bit and noticed all the baby talk....throw my little sister into the baby pile, she is having a girl next month so I'm covered in pink fuzz making bibs, burp cloths and blankets (and a few extras for my shop).  I have a bit of green terry cloth and grey bubble minky (and some boyish cotton for the front) if anyone is interested in boy bibs/burp cloths I'll try to carve out some time to make those Smiley  Also, I'll be whipping up some more sets of microwave bowl holders if anyone is interested (feel free to message color suggestions to me before I start).  Happy shopping guys! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=440716.msg5339117#msg5339117

28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Ongoing Yet Another TM Patch Swap? on: July 14, 2015 08:06:10 AM
So here's a quick intro of how the ongoing swaps work, it may sound confusing at first, but don't let it scare you Smiley

1. Everyone makes a list of size/color/style preferences as well as themes they like (I would save my wishlist in a little notepad file, so I could copy and paste it whenever needed)
2. The host, most likely, posts her list in the swap thread first (and will also make the last claim to even it out)
3.  Everyone can now fight to claim her lol.....if you are interested and want to make a patch inspired by her themes, then you would make a post below her list, with the first line saying "I claim <Craftster name from list above> for a monkey themed patch"....and you would post your wishlist below that....now it's your turn to be claimed by someone
4.  Someone else would decide they want to make you a TM patch based off your themes, so they would post below you with their claim statement and their own wishlist...then it's their turn to be claimed....and so on

There would be separate threads for claims and discussions (so the claim thread isn't crowded out with chat).

It's basically up to everyone if they can make a claim that month or not, you can join at anytime during the month.  And it stays fair, because you must make a claim to be claimed.

I've never done the Pinterest swaps, but I've heard good things.  Roving, it sounds similar to what you are suggesting, except you are saying once a person is claimed they are "off the list", so other people can be claimed if I read that right...it's  early in the morning for me lol. That's not a bad idea either.

I think a two month run wouldn't be a bad idea either, then maybe a month break....just throwing that out into the pile.
So many suggestions and ideas, we could try out a few of the formats and see which ones are the most liked....I love experimenting!

Oooh!mmi had such a blast with this random swap, I'd love to join this if I get the free time!  I also really liked the flat rate box....sometimes I need a bit of restrictions put on me so I don't go totally broke and crazy  Roll Eyes. Having to fill the box was just a fun extra challenge, excited to see this one again

Oooh yay, let's totally discuss this!  I love the monthly ongoing wishlist swaps (I  need to join again when I get back from vaca).  I'd  love to try out a monthly TM patch swap.  I like the idea of deciding if and when I have time to make a claim...and also possibly making patches that I saw on someone's list but couldn't claim at the time, and wait (with fingers crossed) for their owners list to be put up again.  The last person to claim that month is the first list to be put up the following month.  I'd be up for two patches a claim, 2 weeks to send, and 2 claims outstanding (so 4 patches at a time).  If 2 patches in two weeks seems to be a struggle for a lot of people the first month, then we could either raise the send out time to 3 weeks (or a month even), or reduce the patches to one at a time.    I'm up for whatever Smiley
