281  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: ONGOING ATC SWAP - JUNE 2014 - Gallery on: June 18, 2014 12:16:10 PM
I love every card posted so far -- the steampunk owl is wonderful (love his little crown!), the ghostly lantern looks so neat, and the Pisces card is fantastic too.  I'd say we're on fire this month, folks!

The underwear was soooo much fun to work on -- I definitely see more experimenting with magnetic cards in my future.  Roll Eyes
282  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Mini Altered Tin Swap (Signups Closed...Sendouts 6/30) on: June 18, 2014 12:12:01 PM
Went supply shopping this morning -- I have a couple different ideas to try out (and several spare mini-tins, just in case!)  My partner's style is quite a bit different from my own, so I am very excited to branch out from what I usually do and (hopefully) make something that will really suit her tastes!  Grin

I see so much potential with that magnet concept. I can't wait to see what else you might do with that. Cheesy

I know, right?  I'm really excited to play around with it some more.  On a somewhat-related note, I think I'm going to add "Paper Doll" (interchangeable clothing/elements) as one of my themes next month in the ATC Swap.

Alright Inselaeffchen!  That's a beautiful card.  Team Multimedia is representing this morning!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Flying

Project Name:
"Boys Do It Better" ATC
Brief Description: I claimed a "yaoi" themed card for the June Ongoing ATC Swap.  The recipient had a yaoi-themed board on her Pinterest, so I chose a bunch of images, printed them out tiny, and Mod Podged them into a collage. The original idea was to have another card on top, with the word "LOVE" cut/punched to serve as a "peekaboo" window to the card underneath, and then the two would be strung together so you could lift the cover and see the collage underneath.  However, I had all manner of technical problems, and finally decided to scrap the cover altogether.  Undecided In an attempt to give purpose to the now totally unnecessary holes on either side of the card, I strung yarn through them and tied a knot at the top, so that the card could be hung from the wall or even the ceiling as a mobile.

Project Name:
"Underwear" ATC
Brief Description: Unsatisfied with just sending out the previous card (since it was a collage of other people's work, and thus not very "Artist"-y on my part), I decided to work out an idea that had been playing in my head which I figured the recipient would like -- a paper doll idea, with interchangeable clothing.  Since we are studying human anatomy in Apparition this term, my assignment prominently features the posterior.  Wink

Here is the base of the card ("au naturale", if you will):

I placed a strip of magnetic tape on the back of the card, and glued two magnets on top of it into order to increase the strength of the attraction.  (Yes, that's the paper cover for the self-adhering side on top, meaning I glued the "face" of the magnet down to the tape.  I tried it the other way at first, but the polarity was messed up and preventing the other magnets from attracting.)

My guy has three different selections of underwear to choose from as he's getting ready in the morning.  First, the everyday look:

Special occasions:

And for those times when he's feeling a little "cheeky" (har-dee-har):

I had so much fun making this second card, so in the end (see what I did there?), I'm glad the first one didn't turn out as planned!

I put down on my questionnaire that I was going to carry on with my chocolate and turquoise colour theme, but I may change my mind and start a new one. Problem is I have so many themes I would like to do!

How many pieces do you have left to go on the chocolate/turquoise puzzle?

Hi Gang!  Will work on questionnaire (my theme is a bit "involved" this round  Roll Eyes) and get it sent in, possibly Wednesday morning. before going to bed Tuesday night.  Cool

Also,

SQUEEEEE!!! That's my puzzle in the cover image.  Cheesy

ETA: Shall we discuss theme ideas while enduring the wait for partners?  I'm doing Cities of the World this round, with 2 separate puzzles: one for cities inside the US, and another for cities outside.

roler - Hooray!  More felty goodness.  (BTW, I forgot to mention earlier -- I actually like your incarnation of the lizard more than the original Pinspiration!)
artsycandice - the fox hoop is too cute!  I love the little heart.  It looks so tiny -- what's the diameter of the hoop?
pishaw13 - your Battle Royale hoop is "amazeballs", as the kids say.  (They're still saying that, right?)
Ludi - I love the subtle use of the button in your spider embroidery, it fits so perfectly.
smeddley - what a wonderful colorful house hoop, it instantly makes me happy to see.  Your Sheldon ami looks great (I'm so jealous of those who crochet!), and I love the subtle stitching on your needlebook.

Hi!  I am completely new to Craftster, and this is my first time posting any of my crafts to the site, so I'm a little nervous, but this event just looks so fun!!  Please give me any helpful tips if I'm messing up on any etiquette or anything.  I love looking at all the fun creative crafts showing up here!

Hi roler!  I love your lizard, especially those great buttons you used for the eyes.  And welcome to Team MultimediaCheesy
