Yea that does stink that it's not free anymore. However, they're only asking a dollar for it, so when I get up the gumption to make it I'm not to worried about the cost.

Agreed!  I'd pay $1 for nearly any pattern!  Unfortunately, most designers don't realize that.  $1, $2...no worries.  But $5, $6, I even saw one scarf pattern, just the pattern for $12 recently--sorry, I'm not paying that much.

That's using your head Grin

Is that sarcasm? It's so hard to tell on-line.  Huh  Yes, I know they're incredibly overrated, but I just can't help myself.  Cry  It's hard to think of other or even new symbols to use instead. Embarrassed

I read it as a cheap pun, not an insult...skulls...heads... the two are kinda related.  I liked it.

>>(how did you do that, working in rounds?)!<<

It's done flat and then seamed in the back.  I don't like working hats flat, so to avoid it as much as possible, I did the top decreases and the bottom double roll brim in the round but the charted section in the middle was done flat.

And it's San Francisco which means I haven't missed the nastiest weather of the year  Grin

I've got a lot of beige, some cream tweed and two shades of purple to tackle now!

I've fallen off the de-stash wagon!  Been yarn shopping 'just for the fun of it' at least twice already this year...and stitches is coming up next weekend, Oh well...I was really good in 2007 bought virtually nothing.  I predict 2008 will see the stash grow!  oops  Grin

I friend sent me all his mothers yarn, she past several years ago and he's just cleaning out her house.  He's one of the most generous people I know, so in that spirit, I'm donating it all to various charties after I knit it...

Here I've got 3 scarves and 4 hats for a homeless shelter and 2 little blankets for the SPCA.  And I hate pink now!   Grin
