Yes, I got all the parts for my wreath at the dollar store even the cute little lighthouse. Some of them come from the same item, like the tall grass and star wire were from the same piece. The first thing I did was deconstruct the 4th of July decoration, strings of Mardi Gras beads, plastic beads and Hawaiian Leis I was able to find. I think the finished product is well worth the $10. in dollar store I used  Smiley

Hi, this is my entry for the dollar store challenge. I really admire seaside art and was inspired by Carmela's Coastal Crafts. Luckily I could find some shells and other "beachy" looking items  to make it with at the dollar store. My daughter and I used these supplies and took apart the leis, beads and decoration to re-purpose them. I also used moss and shells for a natural look.

Supplies

First I tied on the netting, ribbon and "tall grass" to create the image of seaweed and waves of the ocean. I also tied the white and blue flowers at the top to give the impression of white fluffy clouds. I used the wire with stars to give the look of starfish and also to wire the lighthouse to the wreath. Then I used tacky glue for the mossy part and hot glue for the shells and beads. Below you see the finished product..
