Have a quick drop-off this morning. :-) btw I am blown away by everyone's crafts! You are all so amazing :-).

Class/Challenge/House Pride: History of Magic
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Bringing Home Bumblebee
Project Page Link (if available): Sorry, I can't offer a pattern bc I just made it up as I went along.
Brief Description: I've been practicing my own pattern making (although I failed today bc I didn't write it down). My grandma bought me some pretty yellow and brown yarn and as soon as it was in my hand I could only imagine making a bee from it (I loooove bees!!!! Whee!!). Since Ntrebleagain taught me that St John was a beekeeper, I figured this little toy fits right in with HoM.

I've been working on this project for weeks and I finished just in time to get it in before the Quidditch Cup ends tonight!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Quidditch- Bumphing
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Exterminate Me Handbag
Project Page Link: For the dalek I used this pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/exfoliate-dalek-cloth
For the letters I made my first very own chart: http://www.tricksyknitter.com/knitting-charts/exterminate!-53777
Brief Description: As soon as I saw the Dalek pattern, I just HAD to make something for my friend. So I set out to make her a bag. I couldn't find anything I liked for the back of the bag, so I set out to learn the art of making and using charts. This was my first time doing so and also my first time knitting with two colors (besides changing colors for stripes, etc.). I sewed in a liner too (not pictured). I am calling this bumphing because I know that the Dalek will offer protection for all of her things!

Now I'm off to see what I can come up with for the latest SPEW challenge Smiley

I finished this project last weekend, but I haven't been on much so I didn't post it ( plus I needed NTrebleagain to help me take a picture which captured its shiny-ness. I've gotten pretty behind on commenting, so in the spirit of everyone else, I say that everyone is doing some amazing work! I'm loving it! Smiley

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Quidditch Cup-Keeper
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Neighbour Jane Hoop
Brief Description: My granny recently taught me a few embroidery stitches so I wanted to give it a go. I originally began this project for Seeker because I was working with the gold material... but once I found this quote, I knew it belonged to NTrebleagain's home. ;-)

Midkiffsjoy: thanks!! The nunchuks were pretty quick and easy. I only wish I had had some bigger double points and the chain would have been quicker. Also, I'm sure peaches would taste great in that recipe! Let me know if you try it :-) your hats are so awesome! :-D

Abbeeroad: thanks! Your stamp is so cool, I know someone who would love one of those! I may have to try it!

Moonflame: thank you! I love your needleholders! And the bento box trio is really neat! I never would have thought of buying cheap sweaters and felting them! Your journal is awesome! I want to make one for myself now!

Jennieingram: I'm in love with your apron! Thinking about your Carmelized onion relish pizza had my mouth watering.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Potions
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Sleepy head eye mask
Brief Description: My fianc has been begging me to put my knitting needles to work for him and make him a sleep mask so that he can sleep soundly during the day. I had a little ball of blue yarn left in my stash so I set to work this morning and finally made him one. I sewed some satin from an old pillowcase onto the back to make it a little darker and more comfy.
Pattern Link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mens-sleeping-mask (I used size 8 needles because I don't have 6s and my 7s are currently in use..so I went with the medium size (co 10) and it still came out pretty large. I like the size though, it fits pretty comfortably).

One more submission to get me caught up :-).

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Herbology
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Cherry Crumbly Tart Thingie
Brief Description:
My future mother-in-law was in town and I had heard through the grapevine that she loved cherry desserts. I had no time to run to the store and my pantry was very low on supplies (I only had a partial stick of butter, barely any flour... It was a baker's worst nightmare, lol), but luckily I had been given a can of cherries a while back and I was able to pull some things together and make this cherry crumbly tart thingie. I think the different flavors in each layer worked very nicely together. It got the future MIL's approval!

Ingredients:
3 tbsp Butter- melted
3 tbsp coconut oil-liquid temp
1/2 c honey
1 c old fashioned rolled oats
1 c all purpose flour
6 tbsp brown sugar
1.5 tbsp cornstarch
1 can of cherries, reserve juice
Vanilla, optional

Step 1. Make cherry filling

Im a saucepan combine 1.5 tbs cornstarch, 1/2 c honey and
Juice from one can cherries. Stir on medium heat until firm and remove from heat. Stir in cherries, add a little vanilla if you want. Set aside until after step 2

Step 2: make bottom crust

Combine 3 tbs butter, 1/2 c flour, 1/2 cup oats and 3 tbs brown sugar. Mix and press in bottom of tart pan. Pour cherry filling over the crust.

Step 3: Make crumble topping

Combine 3 tbs liquified coconut oil,
1/2 c flour, 1/2 c oats, and3 tbs brown sugar. Mix together and then crumble on top of cherry mixture.

Step 4: Bake at 375 for 30 minutes

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Alchemy
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: A Stitch of Love Handbag
Brief Description: As some of you may remember I knitted a blanket for a little boy not too long ago. Well, he has a big sister and I didn't want to make her feel left out so I made her something too! This little purse, knitted with yarn that has the perfect peacock colors (thanks to Ntrebleagain for helping me find that ;-)). I embroidered a little heart on the back to help her feel connected to her brother.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Quidditch Cup- Blurting
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: 5-year-old-proof nunchuks
Project Page Link (if available): http://theblattcave.blogspot.com/2011/08/nunchuks-away-new-pattern.html
Brief Description: I didn't expect my first move to be a penalty shot, but here we are :-P.  I wanted to make something for my nephew's birthday. His party theme (and his current dream in life) was to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. So I thought I would like to make him some nunchuks (and luckily I found this really simple pattern online, it made life so sweet!) because they would be fun and functional, and also wouldn't hurt anyone, lol. He seemed to love them since he immediately started attacking with them as soon as they were unwrapped. They fit with blurting because, well, they have two handles.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Place Your Portkey
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Tiny Birdbath
Brief Description: I was beginning to think that I would not find a portkey to take me to the Quidditch World Cup, and then I noticed that Jergnome was not alone in the garden. I think I'll put it up outside my tent at the World Cup, I'm sure there are some tiny birds there that need bathing.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: House Unity
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Heart of Ravenclaw
Brief Description: the joy of working with kids is that I get paid to do arts and crafts :-P. Today we were using everything and anything to make projects and I used a goldfish cracker box, some plastic gems and some watercolor paints to make this "framed" House Unity picture. I included all of the house colors to show unity, but I'm a Ravenclaw, so... That's where I put my heart ;-).
