21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Mini Altered Tin Swap Gallery on: July 06, 2014 10:37:29 AM
I received from Ramona Q the other day and prepare to be jealous.
The outside of the tin is covered in birch bark and moss

And the inside has a butterfly, a besom, a little jar of lavender, two birch bark covered books, and a little mushroom on a pin

The besom, jar, books, and mushroom are all removable

Thanks so much Ramona Q! I love it. (I can't wait to get a mini easel to display it)

That Hufflepuff shrine is awesome socks! I finally sent today and now am having a tad bit of swap anxiety.

Hey all! I just wanted to pop in and say that everything looks fantastic. I just got back from vacation and am quite exhausted. I'll do my best to get the Slytherin Common Room and the Astronomy Tower updated this week.

Somehow I lost this thread. I found it again and am pleased to report that my tin is coming along nicely. I will be sending late though because I will be out of town.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to pop in and say hi. All the projects look great. The Slytherin Common Room and Astronomy Class Room aren't updated yet and probably won't be until later. I'm graduating from High School today, have finals for my college classes next week, and am going on a cruise with my family June 24th through July 1st. I'll try and get things updated before we leave but no promises.

And I'm in.

I think I'll send in a questionnaire later today. Is there still space?

I also have a few last minute projects to turn in.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Alchemy
SPEW: n/a
House: Slytherin
Project Name: From Electrial supplies to craft supplies
Project Page Link: none
Brief Description: Like the phoenix, electrical wire was rebirthed into copper wire for crafting and then rebirthed again into jump rings and various connectors for chains.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Arithmancy
SPEW: n/a
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Wonderful Pomegranate
Project Page Link: none
Brief Description: We took a road trip to a nursery where I got to pick out my very own pomegranate tree. The trip should have taken around four hours but instead it took 10! In those ten hours we looked at a three-teated goat, were left high and dry by our navigation system (thank the gods for good signage), and got to be first responders to a motorcycle accident (the cyclists walked away and was, mostly, fine). This pomegranate will remind me of this wacky adventure with people I love for years to come

Class/Challenge/House Pride: CoMC
SPEW: n/a
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Mjolnir
Project Page Link: none
Brief Description: This is this first piece of jewelry that I have sold to someone Im not related to! Hooray!  The piece has four colors (copper, silver, purple, and black) and two patterns (the crescent moon and the stars)

Class/Challenge/House Pride: March Detention (AND CoMC May Extra Credit)
SPEW: n/a
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Bracelet repairs
Project Page Link: none
Brief Description: When I first taught myself how to weave chainmaille, everyone got maille bracelets for Christmas. Since it was my first time with this technique, some of the bracelets came apart in places. That was um over four years ago. I finally found the bracelets again (yay for cleaning my room) and fixed them. I have found chainmaille to be an extremely relaxing and peaceful pastime (though at times it will drive me insane)

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Herbology (AND CoMC April Extra Credit)
SPEW: n/a
House: Slytherin
Project Name:  Math Class Doodle
Project Page Link: none
Brief Description: Doodling really helps me focus and makes it easier to listen (studies have shown that doodles help people remember auditory information better). One day I was bored in math class and I found my mind wandering so I decided to doodle a little bit. Not only did this little doodle keep me quiet, it also made the class a better learning environment for me.

I am sad to report that though I started cleaning my room for Muggle Studies, its not finished just yet.
