Hello. I would so appreciate if anyone could give me advice on how to best seal photo paper onto ceramic tile for end use as a coaster. It's pretty difficult to source Mod Podge where I live. I use ink jet on photo paper, then use a fixative to set the ink. Then I glue on the photo paper to ceramic tile with acid free glue, or non-toxic school glue. I've tried to use finish off the surface with acrylic epoxy spray paint (clear lacquer) but that finish seems thin. I've also tried brush-on acrylic sealer on the surface of the photo paper as well as around the sides where the edges meet. It's a bit heavier than the spray paint when applied but sometimes condensation from glass still gets through - especially at the edges where the photo paper edges meet the ceramic tile.

Any other recommendations as to what I can use to seal photo paper onto the ceramic tile AND keep out moisture from seeping in underneath or on top of the photo paper?

Hi,

I'm based in the Philippines and it is quite difficult to find a consistent supply of Modge Podge over here. I am looking for alternatives....

I need to an adhesive that can be safely used with photos printed on Epson ink jet photo papers (semi-gloss or matte finish). I also need a sealer for the surface of the photo (which is fixed after printing with Grumbacher's Matte Fixative). Elmer's all-purpose glue and Elmer's School Glue Gel (non-toxic) are the easily available glues/adhesives over here. Can I use these - especially the School Glue Gel w/c is clear and non-toxic) as the adhesive for the photos?

I am gluing the photo papers onto ceramic tiles.  What would be the long-term effects of these types of adhesives if used on on the photo paper printed with ink jet?
