11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Cute Purse with Tute!!! on: July 07, 2005 02:04:08 PM
Grin   I was sitting here knitting a bag I'm making for my sister,  and it's one that it felted after it's knitted.  And  I was like " Hey If someone were to use wool and crochet the bag here that I did,  Then felt it.  It would be very sturdy!

I don't have any wool to try it with but I would love to hear and see what it looks like.   So if somebody wants to do it... let me know so I can see the results.  I think it would be great!!

Cheesy

Okay,  I learned how to knit by throwing (self taught)  but I saw some place the pick meathod and thought I've been doing to wrong this whole time,  So I taught myself to pick.  I actually like picking better.

Glad to know they are both right.  It's hard to teach yourself.   I don't know what I ever did without the internet?HuhHuhHuh?

Thanks for the website Archergal.

Thats great,  thank you very much now I think I get it.

"I am assuming you are are right handed and that you throw not pick your knitting."

What is the difference between throw and pick?

I'm really clueless when it comes to knitting,  but I have managed not to give up yet!

Thanks guys that binding off bit made a lot of since.

I rips up your hands to do it,  but use Hemp or Jute to make the bag with.

I used cotton fabric for the liner.

I finished the one with the rose int he center,  but I forgot to take a pic of it before I gave it away!!!  Oops.

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HELP!!!! I can't understand this pattern on: July 06, 2005 01:42:38 PM
I'm new to knitting so I don't know a lot,  I'm trying to make a bag for my sister and the pattern says this

Row 2 - k1 *k2, insert needle from behind under the running thread between the st just worked and the next, thus putting an extra strand on the needle; k2, then pass the extra strand over the 2 knit sts;* rep from * k1

Can someone translate that into English for me???   BTW  Crochet was my first love.  But I really really want to learn how to knit.!!

Any help would be fantastic.

17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting Vs. Crochet: Which would you recommend? on: July 05, 2005 08:55:25 AM
Here is my 2$

Look at the type of things you like.  Do you like the look of a knitted "thing" or a crocheted "thing"?

Pick the look you like the best,  then learn that. Live it breath it sleep it...Master it.   One is not any more difficult than the other,  You just have to learn it properly.  Once you've learned one,  learn the other.

Hope that helped.

Good luck! Cheesy

I agree with her,  sell them on your own and you will get more money out of them.!!!  Make a logo there is a tute on her on making your one labels,  do that then you will start having a name for your-self.  BTW  yours are much better than Monica Lewinsky's.
