I recieved!!!!!!!! and look: it's completely brilliant!

Front:

Back:

How cool is that?!! Just about as cool as it gets - that's how cool.

I have no idea how it's done, but I love it and I can't wait to wear it to a kntting group.  I will be the envy of the other knitters!

Atsuko also sent me a suprise - some beautiful stitch markers:

Which I might wear on a necklace because they are so pretty!

Thank you so much Atsuko - I had to go the hospital this morning, so this was a fantastic parcel to come home to!

ps. I also have a budding-supermodel-cat. this is first picture I took of the shirt:

32  Polka dot dress - Please may I have your opinion on the ribbon?! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kinkyknit on: August 09, 2006 04:20:18 AM
I finished this today:

I had to throw some extra darts at it to make it fit, and take it apart at the top, which was a giant pain, but I'm finished now.  Anyway...the bow is just pinned on at the mo, because I have some questions:

-do I need wider ribbon??
-or a smaller bow??
-how the hell do you tie a neat bow anyway???!!

So, what do you think???

 :-*xx

33  Re: Rambling Rose from Rowan 39 in Knitalongs by kinkyknit on: August 08, 2006 09:00:31 AM
hello! can I join the KAL? Better late than never, eh??

I had a stash of 50% cotton 50% acrylic yarn hanging around which I bought for another project which never transpired, so I decided to make this instead.

I'm a little past the armholes on the back, so far, and I have 2 questions:

1) do you block cotton??

2) my knitting looks a bit untidy, like the stitches are a little uneven (although it looks really great in the photograph, actually - how did that happen??) - anyway, will that even out on blocking??

Thank you!  Kiss x

(Sorry the pictures are quite bad  Embarrassed, I don't really like taking pictures & I'm no good at it.)

Anyway, I wore the dress out dancing at the weekend and 2 people came up to me to tell me that they loved my dress!

Batgirl!!!!!! You fabulous craftster, you!

My postman has just been and delivered a fab parcel, (addressed to "K. Knit" which I loved) and it was my FOC thank you from Batgirl!!!!  Look what she sent to me!!!!

As modelled by the stunning Ninja (doesn't she look beautiful today??!):  Mad Libs!!!!! I saw these on My Name is Earl and I really wanted some ever since! Just wait till Mr Kinkyknit gets home! We're going to have some fun tonight!!!!!, also some Aztec chocolate, which has ground chillies, and is absolutely delicious (A "sacred pleasure - the bridge between heaven and earth", according to the Aztecs, who were not exagerating) and a pretty little tin, which has a gorgeous little bag inside with... earrings! (note the lime-ness) - they are gorgeous!

Thank you so much, what a brilliant parcel!  Thank you for your thank you!  Kiss

Yay! I recieved from  witchybelle4u2 and what a fabulous parcel it is!!!! Witchybelle included so many fab things, and clearly thought very carefully about my favourite things!...

Can I also add that these things are beautifully made and finished.

long wristwarmers, in a really soft cottony yarn in ORANGE, with HEARTS on!!!!!!  Please also note the orange polka dot fabric which she also sent...

Red polka dot fabric, and a knitting skull patch!!!! (total suprise and hugely appreciated - it's so funky!)...

And a crochet hat with a flower on, modelled here by my new friend "Slam man" - he's so useful.  He can model things for me to show my fab craftster friends, and then I can put on my boxing gloves and punch his lights out! Lovely.

39  Psychadelic Kaftan for Hot Summer of Luuuuurve in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kinkyknit on: July 26, 2006 12:40:57 PM
I saw this fabric and knew it had to become a kaftan...

I'm mostly very very happy about it, for 3 reasons:

1.  I learned how to make bias binding! I know it's not rocket science, but this little machine knocked my socks off...

2. I used my shiny new overlocker to make my seams neater than they've ever been before...

3. And I even did a rolled hem!

The only thing I'm not so sure about is that the front slash ended up being more revealing than I'd intended, but it's intended to be a beach cover-up, so I think it will be fine.

What do you think??!!!

How did you resolve the "showing your bum" problem? I just finished my dress and have that problem too.  Sad
