1  Ugly Christmas Sweater in Crochet: Completed Projects by mandobug on: December 06, 2013 02:44:57 PM
So I finished this sweater for a friend of mine a couple of days ago and I'm proud to say it won the ugly Christmas sweater contest at his offices holiday party!
I followed this base pattern for the sweater: http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/father-pullover
And I free-form crocheted the rest and then popped battery operated led lights through the holes in the front.

2  Hummingbirdy in Needlework: Completed Projects by mandobug on: July 14, 2013 09:40:43 AM

Thanks to craftster I have started picking up embroidery.  I stumbled upon Urban Threads when they were having their huge 50% of everything sale so I picked up a couple of hand embroidery patterns for 50 cents!  I tackled this design (Hummingbirdy) to practice the satin stitch.  I struggled at first but I think I may have the hang of it now.  Thanks for looking  Cheesy

I was able to get my sketch onto fabric before my five hour flight, thank goodness!  I had a lot of fun with this months theme, I got to play around with new stitches.  This was a quote I had seen browsing pinterest and instantly fell in love!

4  Thank you gift ideas for volunteer? in Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage by mandobug on: July 08, 2013 09:34:03 AM

Long story short, this woman has been caring for my pets (in the picture above) while I've been out of town unexpectedly for about a month now.  I don't really have the money to pay her what she deserves for doing this for me. But since I do have a large stash of craft supplies I figured I could put together a pretty awesome thank you gift basket.

Here's where I need help....I have no idea what to make!  I can crochet, knit, embroider, and do some basic sewing. Anyone have some ideas to help me out?  Also she has three cats and a pug, I figured I could slip some gifts in for them too.

Summertime for me means camping and bonfires and the best part is toasting marshmallows.  I had a lot of fun playing around with this hoop.  I tried crayon tinting but I have a heavy hand Cheesy I still like the way it turned out though.
