Needles: Size 2
Pattern: Ingrid's Bridal Knot from A Gathering of Lace
Dimensions: Approximately 88" across
Started: February 2007
Finished: August 10, 2007
Modifications:  Left out the last 14 rows of the second border because I didn't really care for the hearts (and the shawl was already heading on epic proportions)

This was a fun little knit.  I did make some changes to it though.  I used Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton to knit it and I added more garter stitch and added a row of yo's so that I can run a ribbon through to close it up.  Mine seems a little shorter that the one on the pattern, but I also haven't loaded up the bag yet, so I'm guessing it will stretch out some.

This was supposed to become a dress, but time, patience and material all became scarce, so instead I added a waistband and now have a cute skirt to wear tomorrow Smiley

These shoes were cute to begin with


But I couldn't help but see the potential for something cuter, something more glittery, some hearts and some fire....

So a few layers of paint later, this is what I ended up with:

Does anyone here know of where I could find charts to incorporate letters of the alphabet into lace work?  I've found ones for intarsia/fair isle, but nothing for lace.

I'm so glad to finally be done with this one.  I started in September and the actual knitting only took about a month, but the getting around to finishing it took forever, partially due to trying to figure out how to go about blocking it in a small apartment with two evil cats, but I finally ended up getting it damp and ironing it to block it.  I finished weaving the ends in on Thanksgiving morning so that I could wear it.



Made out of an alpaca/wool blend I got for cheap on e-bay on size 7 needles.  Pattern from Folk Shawls.

This is for a friend getting married next month......this whole being able to sew and make my own pattern thing rocks....the material was clearanced down to 75 cents a yard, and I made a plus size nightie that doesn't look like something a 90 year old would wear.





unfortunately, the cheap hanger on the closet door does not do it justice, but it's the best I could come up with.

I finally made a sock...just one so far, but I'm so excited about it, I've been walking around the house in one sock.


It's a modified (I like short socks) version of the basic sock from Hip to Knit
