1  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Welcome To Night Vale Swap (SIGNUP 4/19/15-5/01/15 ; MAIL BY 5/22/15) on: May 22, 2015 02:21:13 AM
All of my papers for my ethics course are finished! FINISHED! Oh dear God, why did I ever think a two week course was a good idea?!

That being said, I'm afraid I might have to send late, breaking my streak of always getting things in on time. I have already located my nearest hidden microphone and have shouted my shame to the Sheriffs Secret Police and The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In My Home. If I am lucky, I will not be taken in for mandatory good citizenship remedial training. I'm sure this is a thing, right?

OAnd my six year old looks up at it, and while his siblings were wondering aloud what it was, he turns to me and says "All hail! All hail the glow cloud!" and I thought my proud geeky mummy heart would just burst.

That is totally awesome!

Okay, I've started work on one of my projects and it's going to need some adjusting. No big deal there. I've done prep work for another, the third I hope to start work on while on a trip to Illinois I'll be taking from Friday to Monday. Right now I'm attempting to get all of this weeks homework (2 week course) out of the way so I'll have Wednesday and Thursday free for projects one and two.

Just three more discussion sections and 3 more short tests to go! So far so good for being on track.

Special thanks is going out to KBrison (my mother) for agreeing to serve as my editor which saves me some time.

Am I the only person up to date with episodes?

I've heard all but the most recent episode, but now I think I need to go listen to it! Feel free to chat with me about it tomorrow though. I love to talk all things Nightvale. (Heck, I love to get my geek on!)

More than happy to share and have my board shared as well. :-)

I tried shouting the URL into my nearest secret recording device, but it seems the Secret Police weren't passing along the message, so I'll just list it here.

Well, I know I'm not in the swap, but sharing some of the love. :-)

Character I think I most resemble: Susan Sto Helit - I'm usually calm, collected, logical, but open to the idea that we adults don't always know what's *really* going on.

Anti me would likely be Rincewind. I love him, but I refuse to live in constant fear.

Favorite Character and book.... I think this would be impossible. I have so many I love for such different reasons, Vimes, Vetinari, Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg, Tiffany Aching, the Wee Free Men, The Chancellor, Cheery, The Luggage, DEATH! The list could go on and on. As for the book "Good Omens" (I own 5+ copies of this book, just in case I meet someone who's never read it so I can give it to them), "Small Gods", "Equal Rites", "Going Postal", "Raising Steam", "THUD!", again, the list can go on and on.

This man and his writings totally bring out my Geek. I could talk about the worlds and characters he's created for hours and not be tired of the discussion. I also can't tell you just how many times in college I would be sick to death of reading, couldn't stand the sight of another book, but I'd still pick up the latest Discworld novel I had gotten my hands on and read until the wee hours of the morning, only to have to drag myself to class the next day as though I had been out partying all night. Never once did I regret staying up to read the book though.

I am thinking about this one. Can we include our favorite quotes?

Yes! Sorry, I really should have asked that as a question!

But... But.... How on earth could I possibly pick a favorite?!

While I love the idea of this swap, I think I'll have to pass. It does seems like a wonderful tribute though and I certainly want to follow all the wonderful things that come from the participants.

What has 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon, and 3 in the evening? I don't know, but it has me trapped in the bedroom and is telling me I must join this swap! Only crafting will help!

Sending in my Questionnaire later tonight.

The picture is a thumbnail, so clicking on it will give a larger image.

As for getting it to grow longer... I found that putting something on the television that would allow me to knit without thinking was the best way for me to knit the scarf. After an hour or so of knitting without worrying about rows I could finally start to see progress.
