1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / The Hobbit- Balin Amigurumi on: August 06, 2013 07:38:35 AM
Second dwarf from the Hobbit cast I'm making =) 11 more to go!! Balin is one of my favorite dwarfs, he's always so kind and jolly, and he reminds me of Santa XDD

I'm trying to make Bilbo, all the dwarfs and perhaps Gandalf before the next Hobbit movie comes out, and here's my first dwarf!! I'm making them in the order they came knocking on Bilbo's door, so first up is Dwalin~

Though he's a dwarf, Dwalin's the tallest amigurumi I've ever made XDD Balin's finished as well, but I don't have photos taken yet, and I'm currently working on Fili. Fingers-crossed on getting them finished before December!

You can find Bilbo here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=423831.0#axzz2Z52HD6DP

I love him!!!! He looks so awesome. I love his hair! I think you did the right thing by not trying to put hair on his feet. I can't really think of a good way to do that in crochet. Maybe you could get a wire brush and brush his feet...that would make them fuzz up!

Thank you for the reassurance =) I don't know about brushing it, it's 100% acrylic and doesn't fuzz much >  <
Plus I dunno about skin-colored fuzz XDDD

Really cute, but he needs furry feet, lol.

I know XDDD I'm still struggling with the internal debate of whether or not to add it.
I was worried he'd end up looking like he had worms crawling on his feet though @  @
