4  Re: Clothing collection!! - Simbolo Coma - (VERY img heavy) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lady_vampiresa on: September 28, 2005 06:08:11 PM

Let's see if i manage to do this right =)

Well... you'll have to cut the long piece (2) twice, one in black, and one in white, and sew them wrong sides together.
The length of that piece woud be the length of your torso + half round your neck. The thick middle would go around your neck and the wide parts would to the front of the top. You've to cross them in the front an inch or two so your boobs won't come out =P. To make it two-colour you'll have to twist it once in the neck area, and sew one black side to one white side in the front.
for the waist (1), you'll have to measure your waist and then think how wide you'll like it to be, and draw a piece two times wide, and then fold, so when you sew it to the twisted piece, you'll be able to put it inside and have a good finish =)
and then, sew the elastic (3) CUTE ribbon to the back, so it stays all together...

hope that'll do... i mean, this's not my mother language so i'm sorry for writing so awfully *blushes*

6  Re: help with mermaid skirt in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by lady_vampiresa on: September 16, 2005 01:24:57 PM
maybe you should just sew a tube skirt (very simple) and the add godets to the bottom... so it'd look like a mermaid tail =) Just be careful in cutting and sewing the godets right side and that's all...
You've to take advantage of the stretchyness of the fabric and the fact that mermaid's tails are like sticked to their skin... LOL

(added pic sou you'd understand)

be careful when making the "godets" (the triangles), you shouldn't make just a triangle because when you sew them, the bottom part would be uneven, you should measure the length desired in the middle and the sides, and draw a curve =)

7  Re: mono = new skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lady_vampiresa on: September 16, 2005 01:14:41 PM
maybe sewing like this on the hip would help =) (dotted line)

don't do it so dramatically, just take one inch from each side, or less =)
