he he heee, had to make the topic interesting somehow Cheesy

after seeing <a href="http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=99090.0">this</a> post which lead me to <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/t_shirt_surgery/3597625.html">this</a> tutorial and after a couple of 'trial' pairs of what are now pj bottoms (to determine what size tee would be best)... my daughter wanted a more 'flowy' leg...

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / t recon help: i have no vision :( on: July 14, 2006 02:42:28 PM
every sports event my kidlets are in produces another useless tee (once the season is over)  they are always ridiculously big for the kids and gaudy with advertisements on the front and sleeves, and always in too bright colors.  oh, and let's not forget, numbers on the back
but, i can't seem to make myself throw the hideous things away!
i'd love to recon everyone of these for my 7y/o dtr.
suggestions?  links to others that might work?  is there a recon out there that will take away that much of the front?

i also have 4 of these tees... they all have this exact print on the front, everything else is blank

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / another jean flared skirt on: June 12, 2006 11:12:14 AM
i followed this fabulous idea:  original http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=0bb4a105ef886a8dfdc6b4d2b6f58eb3;topic=98093.0

and made a cutie tootie flared denim skirt for my daughter.
i used a pair of jeans that were too short but still fit in the waist.  i left the seams exposed for that frayed look.  she's happy Cheesy

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / slipcover advice? on: June 02, 2006 11:30:40 AM
hello all!  i found this awesome couch at thrift and am wanting to make several slipcovers (i have 4 young children, 2 dogs and 2 cats).
i wanted to get some opinions before i started.  do you think it is do-able?   see how the 'ends' of the couch round in?  this is the part that frightens me... do you think i will be able to create something to fit in nicely with this curve?
also, opinions of the tufting?   i LOVE the feel and size of this couch - fabric, too (it's silk damask)-- which is why i want to take great care in preserving it... especially while the kids are on summer break!

6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / mirror tiles on: May 27, 2006 08:31:21 AM
i have 5 -  12"x12" mirror tiles....

what to do with them?Huh

ETA:  my house is decorated in a very eclectic but yet kinda traditional french country.  the only "modern" type rooms in the house are my sons' rooms.  a superman room, batman room, and star wars.
7  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / felted,beaded doll on: May 22, 2006 03:30:27 PM

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / my first sock teddy on: May 19, 2006 07:53:54 AM
i made this for a girl's 8th bday gift.   what do you think?
it was a lot of fun to do.

2 socks, 2 buttons, embroidery floss, felt, & polyfil

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / how to recon this? - DONE! on: May 08, 2006 09:56:54 AM
i found this dress for my dtr at thrift.  i don't like the style, but the fabric is great.  she is 7.  how woulld you recon this beast?
ETA:  the dress fits her perfectly now

thank you all so much for your suggestions!
after i had the sleeves and body ruffles off, my daughter wanted it left at this stage.   she has taken one of the pieces of body ruffle and is doing a bit of recon herself.  she is making a necklace/choker from it.   the girl definitely has her own style!

so, i didn't really make too many changes.. but - what doyou think of my very first recon?
