1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / preppy cube handbag on: January 26, 2004 11:57:15 AM
hi everyone, first post here and i've spent all morning procrastinating doing work due to all of the fabulous projects that i've seen.  at any rate, i wanted to show off a recently-completed bag that i made. it's a bit Lilly Pulitzer, but i have a bit of that evil side to me, lol.

I think the only way that I could get this purse in this shape is because my fabric store (G Street fabrics in the DC area) carries Timtex by the yard and is lower-priced than the one that comes pre-packaged.

from the side (note:  sew handles on sides before sewing sides together.)

lining (I think lining really makes the purse):

i had to write through the instructions, and ended up cutting the Timtex to the exact size dimensions (rather than that 1/4 allowance you usually give).  Will post rough instructions when i get the chance.  I love ALL of the crafts I've seen here, by the way!
