261  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitty's Ribbon X-Back (My first non-scarf!!) on: June 07, 2005 08:14:18 PM
Hey everyone,

I just stumbled across this site about a week ago and I love it!!  It's so much fun to see what everyone is making.  And, because I don't really have any knitting friends to share this with, it's great to be able to "show-off" here. Smiley

Anyway...this is it, my first completed non-scarf object Smiley

and from the back...

Sorry about the geeky smile and...umm...garbage in the background...they're a result of being a) non-photogenic and b) having a small apartment!   Cheesy

Ok, so I was the last one to post, but I'm getting discouraged here.  I'm actually really really close to being finished (only a few more inches on the straps), so I tried it on.  Somehow my two front sides (either side of the V) don't match up.  I guess I changed tension a little bit or something.  I think I might have to frog part and try again.  Undecided  I'm so close, too!!   Cry

Very cute!  I love the color.    Grin

I would definitely vote for either the jazz age fabric or the asian stuff.  The green with roses blends too much so it wouldn't stand out.  That's just my humble opinion, though...

I realize this is an old thread, but if you're still working on it I'd love the KAL.  I've been making one for my fiance.  I'm using a denim/navy for the MC, grey for the skinny stripes, and a natural/oatmeal for the wide stripe.  I have the back finished and I'm about to start the V-neck on the front.

Hope yours is going well (finished even??)

I just started mine tonight.  I'd been admiring the pattern for a while and finally settled on Deco Ribbon in Picnic.  I'm not sure if I like it variegated yet.  I sort of wish that I had gone with a solid color, but I'm going to stick with it and see how it turns out.  So far so good really, though.   After a hell-ish cast-on/first row (i'm a first-time circ. AND ribbon user) it really is knitting quickly. (I'm about 3 inches or so into it.)  I just hope it fits me when I'm done!  I'm a little worried that all of you are having such sizing problems because I am a very small chested girl.  Embarrassed  I'm already doing the XS, so if that doesn't work than I'm just outta luck.  Sad  Unless I modify, but I don't know that I trust myself to do that...

Anyway, here's hoping!  And good luck to you all as well!  I'd love to see more finished products when you all are done.  Nice job Positron!

I never really liked the minisweater look until I found everyone on this board!  I absolutely love yours, especially the color  Smiley  It's very cute.  I have a very small chest, too, so I really like the keyhole modification.  Now if I could only finish just one of my UFOs I could cast on for that sweater...

ps...this is my first post, so Hi Everyone!!  I'm loving this site!!
