181  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "_____ in a box" gift ideas. on: June 20, 2005 10:09:01 PM
THANK YOU, Dragon! Those were 2 very good ideas.
They both informed me they would love some art stuff for their birthdays...and I didn't even realize about the Hogwarts acceptance letter. He has a very neat collection of wands (2 bought and the rest he's made...and they have turned out nice) and he was complaining about wanting to keep them in something nice. I'm thinking a wand case for all of them?
I've got to get to work. They are counting down...7 days. haha

Thats a really good idea. For my best friend's 18th birthday I made her a scrapbook. I'm really pleased with it and how it looks. On the very last 2 pages I glued a green envelope on the page, and wrote a letter and stuck it in there. I didn't seal it so she could open it easily and stick the letter back in without any rips. I'm almost done with it...and I can't wait to see her reaction! I know she'll love it.

As for Liz, the friend moving away, I have been thinking about different stationary and an address book all of her friends can write their addresses in. Also, I found some neat journals at the Dollar Tree (love that place!) and I thought about redoing the inside. The outside says Friends Forever, far away or near. I thought that would really be apropriate.

My twin brothers 12th birthday is in 15 days. One loves to draw (loves super heros...xmen, spiderman, etc.), he likes harry potter, loves to cook...
The other one is oposite. He loves camping, knives, wrestling, and cartoons. Any ideas? I've been really busy and I just noticed how soon their bday has came up. THANK YOU ALL!
184  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: First Timer here...Blondie Tshirt on: June 05, 2005 10:15:16 PM
Thanks all!

I used regular spray paint. It didn't say anything on the back of the can to not use it on fabric. So I took my chances, and after it has been both washed and dried, the paint stayed on the shirt!

That's really neat! I'll have to start on this right away!

186  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / First Timer here...Blondie Tshirt on: June 03, 2005 07:54:42 PM
After seeing all this neat stuff you all are making, I wanted to try a stencil. So I remembered these awesome Blondie t shirts I seen at Hot Topic and thought what the crap? I'll try it out!
Stenciling isn't that hard, but it does take time and patience. I went digging through my closet and found an old pink t shirt that I tried to bleach at one time(you can still see some dots on it from where i used a spray bottle and bleach. didn't work that great for being such a dark shirt). I also had some black spray paint, and thought that maybe it'd work on a shirt. I'm actually pretty proud of my first stenciling.

The letters are a little messed up, but its okay. I got a lot of complements the other day.
What do you all think?

One of my closer friends is going to college out of state...and I was thinking of making some kind of scrapbook. I'm not sure. What do you all think I should make her? Another idea I had was making her own stationery so we can write back and forth...or some kind of box to keep all of our letters in.
Any ideas? Thank you!
