Here's some pictures of my latest project... based on a friend's novel, Windshifter, which features anthropomorphic dragons in a steampunk setting. The main character is a dragon with a hand-me-down pocket watch, and when I saw this pendant, that's what immediately jumped to mind, and I knew I had to do something with it.
I have a couple of antique coins I kept out of my grandfather's coin collection when it was sold off after his death - both from 1880 (each of the grandchildren kept two coins from 100 years prior to their birthdate) and I'd like to make one of them into a necklace. I've seen some beautiful bead-bezeled coins and have done cabochons in the past, does anyone have any advice on adapting the technique to a coin?
Decided to come out of lurking here to post some pics of my new necklace, I'm so proud of it. First attempt at a peyote tube (I've done lots of flat peyote before), with a spiral pattern out of different shades of green, and it turned out so lovely. Would like to know what ya'll think, since I learned beadweaving first here. Here's links to two pictures:
