1  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Tricky fabric, looking for suggestions. on: July 25, 2005 04:41:29 PM
Maybe you could embroider the skulls on a piece of fabric and then applique them on.

Where's Windy Moon? Is it on Spokane Street? I went looking for it and couldn't find it.

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Vintage Coloring Books as patterns on: July 19, 2005 09:23:27 PM
I'm so addicted! Some of the pics are really creepy while others are just goofy (what kid would want to color in a picture of a water bottle?). I looove it!
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Cheap Camp activities on: July 19, 2005 09:21:40 PM
You could make God's Eyes- take 2 sticks put them into a cross shape and weave yarn around the 4 quadrants.
Make rock people/pets- glue smooth rocks together and paint
Good Luck!

I have 3 words for you: HOT glue gun.
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Vintage Coloring Books as patterns on: July 13, 2005 02:02:22 PM
I found the greatest coloring book from 1930 and have been using the pictures as patterns. I copy the pics at work (I'm getting handy with the reducing part) and then trace over the picture with a Sulky pen, iron it on and voila a really cool and original embroidery pattern. I'm actually becoming obsessed!

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: The abandoned project that haunts me... on: July 10, 2005 01:29:02 PM
I'm a spastic crafter and seem to always start things and never seem to finish them-
latch hook rug
skirt made out of a sheet with a super cute iron embroidered on it
other unfinished clothes
various stories with zippy beginnings, but no endings
and folded paper projects

now I just stick to coin purses, fast and dirty, baby!
