52  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Pink, purple mandala on: September 19, 2014 09:08:44 AM
I love the colours, and I love the sound of it, pink, purple.

Well I had a lot of fun picking up the colours, the different sizes and stitching it.

Im even very happy of the no-flaws look. Still dont know what to do with it, but will soon find an idea !

Sorry for the amount of pics, but I really love this one  Cheesy

54  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Pink green mandala on: September 17, 2014 10:56:33 PM
Thanks. I didn't think about the textures when I did it... but it's true that it's the feature which is striking now.

I'm working on a new one, with different shades. I'll try to keep that in mind Smiley
55  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Pink green mandala on: September 17, 2014 11:11:43 AM
I stitched this mandala over 3 months. Not because it took a long time but because I really thought about which effect I wanted. At first, (crazy me !) I wanted to only do French knots, then reality took over. And I thought about other stitches. The grid and the ribbon were nice and easy to do, but then I let it to rest. I didnt know how to finish it.

A big clean in my workshop gave me the key : 2 soft thread, and the way to tie them to the material give them soft waves.

Now Im pleased with it.

I might borrow the idea, to ensure my son uses his napkin Cheesy

Thanks a lot Kittykill Smiley

58  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Zardosi jewels on: September 16, 2014 08:55:25 AM
This is some new trials. I made "small" embroidery patches and then stuck it onto supports.
Zardosi is time consuming so if I want to give them away, I had to make them smaller.

My daughter loves them, and can't wait to get one Smiley So I'm pretty pleased.

But not entirely satisfied. They could be better complete, but "how" ? I still have to think about it...

59  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: The one I didn't want to give away on: September 15, 2014 12:02:31 AM
Beautiful quilt, even though, it's a simple design.
The beauty of it resides in the long hours spent doing it, in the choices of material.

And I'm sure Johanne felt all this love while she looked at it Smiley
