21  amazonite and gold in Beads: Completed Projects by ffancypantss on: July 13, 2006 09:29:54 AM
I really like the simplicity of this necklace. I just recently started using gold in addition to silver. This necklace is made with Amazonite, gold plated wire and gold plated chain, with a vintage gold clasp. I think Amazonite is quite possible the most beautiful gemstone.

I love these lemon chrysophrase beads.

This vintage clasp came off of a strand of pearls I got on ebay

Sterling and Swarovski

Freshwater pearls and Swarovski

I added a little dangly thing onto the clasp just for kicks and giggles

Blackstone, freshwater pearls, Czech firepolish and silver plated wire

I think it's pretty cool

24  gorgeous summer jewelry in Beads: Completed Projects by ffancypantss on: June 30, 2006 09:04:06 AM

Blue quartz, freshwater pearls and silver beads.

Amazonite, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, and silver beads.

...and the cute matching earrings.

Rose quartz, freshwater pearls, and silver beads.

The clasp is my favorite part.

Simple, but pretty, matching earrings.

Some sparkly and fun Swarovski earrings. I think they're pretty snazzy.

25  bijoux (that's French for awesome jewelry!!) in Beads: Completed Projects by ffancypantss on: June 29, 2006 11:59:22 AM
After spending $250+ at the Rings & Things show, I had lots of fun things to make jewelry with. Here's just a few pieces that I have made this summer.

Apple turquoise, Swarovski turquoise, and hollow sterling beads.

I love these mother of pearl earrings. They're light and go with EVERYTHING! Surprisingly, I found these pendants at WalMart (I honestly hate WalMart, my mom needed some lightbulbs so I popped in with her) for like $1.50.

Silver plated chain with blackstone

Long chain and pineapple quartx necklace. It can be worn the long way, or looped around twice.

...and the matching earrings.

These might be hard to see, but they're Lemon Chrysophrase. And yes, that's the Odyssey. Summer reading.

Rings made of random beads that didn't have a match. I love them.

Freshwater pearls=love.

Thank you so much for checking out my jewelry. I will definitely be posting more soon!

26  Re: I need your help in creating this beautiful dress... in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by ffancypantss on: May 07, 2006 10:20:08 AM
i just checked out simplicity 4481, it's very similar and MUCH more flattering.

The only thing is that I don't like the diamond-shaped piece in the middle. would it be easy to omit that? also, I would like it in a shorter length. i'm really tall so i don't like floor length dresses. this formal isn't too too formal either, so a shorter dress would be fine. i really appreciate your help!

27  I need your help in creating this beautiful dress... in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by ffancypantss on: May 05, 2006 06:13:01 PM
Hey guys! This January, I went to my friend's winter formal at her school (an all girl's private school, i will be going there next year, by the way) and this girl had this amazing dress that I just fell in love with.

it was satin, and the top was ruched and crossed over.

isn't it pretty? to get to the point, i would like to make my own version of this dress, probably in black satin. Have any of you guys ever made something close to this dress, or know of a good pattern to work from? I have minimal sewing talent, but my mom is willing to help me.

oh, let me get your advice on this too... before I start sewing it, do you think it would be flattering for a size 12-14?

thanks, you guys are pretty awesome.

30  lovely jewelry- old & new in Beads: Completed Projects by ffancypantss on: January 22, 2006 10:41:49 AM
It's been a loooong time since I've posted some goodies. So, I whipped out the camera, and here's some stuff, old and new.

This one almost made me go broke. It's Swarovski with silver...uh, things.

Hammered circle with royal blue and clear Swarovski. I find that black and white pictures work better.

I love these beads! They're little iridescent heads, with a silver spacer and lilac colored crystals. I have big earlobes.

Yeah, yeah, I know everyone and their grandma have made these rings, but I love them and they seem to sell really well. I have little preschooler fingers.

These are way cooler in person. Red leaf beads with gray crystals.

Thanks for looking!
