15  ZEBRA agate! in Beads: Completed Projects by ffancypantss on: August 09, 2006 02:25:50 PM
I just fell in love with this gigantic zebra agate bead.

The wire wrapping took forever

All of the beads are Czech glass

I added chain to the ends because the wire wrapping was getting old. You can't even see it, as the necklace is quasi-choker length.

17  Re: taking nice pictures of jewelry? in Beads: Discussion and Questions by ffancypantss on: July 21, 2006 06:14:17 PM
The microwave idea is a hoot! I definitely have to try it.

I usually (like other Craftsters here) set out a piece of white paper in a sunny area (I try taking all of my pics during the day so I don't have to use flash), turn on macro and turn off the flash. I also like to take pictures of jewelry at an angle, like this:

and this . I think it looks more professional, and it also reduces shadows. Give it a shot (uh, no pun intended!) Smiley

I also think that your camera depends on your overall picture quality. I just bought a Canon Powershot with SIX megapxels! I am one happy girl!

Good luck with everything!!!

19  ...all in an hour (pic chubby) in Beads: Completed Projects by ffancypantss on: July 13, 2006 08:59:00 PM
I made all of this while watching "The World Series of Pop Culture" on VH1. Are you all not addicted to that show?

I made a LOT with these mother of pearl beads that were a STEAL. Here they are with some pretty aqua and cranberry colored glass beads.

...and, of course, the matching earrings.

Capiz shell with Swarovski.

more shells...

These are similar to a pair I made recently... only the crystal's green.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these earrings I might just have to keep them for myself! Smiley

the bad boys in action. (looks like I am growing a beard  Shocked)

20  Whimsical Bracelet! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by ffancypantss on: July 13, 2006 09:37:23 AM
This is my first time on the polymer clay board... usually you can find me in the jewelry section. I used to love love love Sculpey when I was 10 or 11, and I'd buy gobs and gobs of it. A few months ago, I took all of my leftover bits and pieces and made this very cute bracelet.

I like this bead the best  Smiley

I mod-podged 'em after baking so they'd have a nice sheen to them

Do you think this would sell... or should I keep it for myself?
