3591  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Skins Swap? on: October 04, 2010 11:42:15 AM
Just watched the first four episodes of Season Three - I kept stopping the dvd to sketch the graffitti in the tunnel and jot down a few of the funnier lines. Please host this swap!

As for annoying and addictive? I resemble that remark.

Wow - Karli, I bow down to your drawing talent. Maybe for the gingerbread house, some ominous clouds? Or a transparent witch hovering over the house waiting for H and G?

Just signed up for a bookbinding class for Saturday afternoon so I can stop worrying ahead of time about putting my book back together. Oh and lots of background work this weekend - nothing really to show. Just having fun with rubber stamps and bubble wrap!

Okay - we're up to 15 swappers. Do you want 3 groups of 5 or 5 groups of 3? Vote and be counted...

And we're all USA so far, even though this is one of the few times that almost all of you said you would send overseas!  Partners later tonight, after "Gossip Girl"!

Yes, some of you need to check in - including me! I am also doing finishing touches today (maybe the SF Giants will win today?) and pack and send tomorrow.

Hope you all enjoyed participating - this was a fun swap!

Reminder - Send out day is FRIDAY OCTOBER 8. Please PM me and your partner if you can't make that deadline.

Thanks all.

Forgot to mention that I am taking a writing class on Thursday evenings so not only do I miss "Project Runway" and "The Office", I can't hang out here. So I'll be slow to answer queries on Thursdays....

Wow - these houses are all amazing. Great job everyone.
(I will be sending Saturday also - sorry, my writing class and homework got in the way this week.)

Can I do it without you, Rose?
We've been in all of them together, I think.

Yes, I admit to using a big envelope - I didn't want to fold the paper more than once or twice...
3600  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Heat Gun Crafts? on: September 29, 2010 02:59:22 PM
I checked a book out of the library (I'll add the name after I look it up) and it's all about making stamps out of all kinds of household objects - spools, flip flops, other bits and pieces. The author lists many things to make with a heat gun and children's foam puzzle pieces. One I remember is to heat up the foam and then place the heated-up foam on safety pins or paper clips. When the foam cools, remove the objects and you have a new stamp. Haven't tried this yet but I plan to.

I originally bought my heat gun for shrinky dinks and embossing.
