11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tiny Collages - AKA Silly Little Art on: June 20, 2016 11:44:58 PM

This is not an original idea - saw it somewhere else. I found a roll of blue tickets at the thrift store. I covered the writing with matching paint.

(I suppose I could use gesso or white acrylic paint also.)

Then I cut tiny pieces of decorative napkins to fill in the rectangle space - I wanted to keep the numbers on the side so the pieces still retain their "ticket-ness." I cut words out of a book ("8,789 Words of Wisdom" - I used scraps that had already been cut up.)

I colored the words with Sharpies and Tombow markers - next time I will use watercolors for a more subtle effect.

These are fast and easy and I will add them to journal pages and happy mail. Just some silly little art.

You are such a goofball, Laurel.

And the giraffe is one of my favorites! It's at home - not at school. Don't want boogery fingers near it!

I hope to post round 2 soon but we still have several outstanding pocket letters in transit and I wanted to get that all cleared up before posting another round.  Hopefully soon!

And partially my fault - I misread who I was sending to and missed that I need to send to Treemoon. Working on it tonight and hope to get it out tomorrow or Monday.

Okay we have 10 swappers signed up - the next step is to "check in" with me, via PM here on Craftster. If I do not hear from you before Monday, I will not send out partner info. If everyone checks in by Sunday, I will send out partner info earlier.

Happy crafting everyone - I will peruse some art and look for inspiration.

I'm not sure I can wait until the next swap -- I'm sending myself my own questionnaire and starting on my next page!

This is a great idea - I may try to make one for myself also.

Will finish up feedback tonight as we wait for the last few pages to arrive at their destinations.
Have a great weekend everyone. Meet you back here in August?

I am going to start my swap box tonight - I take a shoe box and as I clean/organize my desk, I will toss in the papers that I think will be used for this project. It's my way of gathering supplies for a swap.

I have to finish 5 small books tonight as a gift for someone and anything that doesn't make it into those books will be added to the swap box.

Happy scavenging everyone!

I received a fantastic Craftster-themed pocket letter from Treemoon. Look at this:

Here are the rows - love that she used screen shots for the backgrounds:

The goodies in the back were great also - charms, brads and mini metal tags, beads and homemade rolled magazine beads, 2 pairs of earrings (love the HP ones!), a choker and some punch-outs.

Thanks so much - I often include Craftster as a theme but no one really ever likes that idea. I do and I think this pocket letter is fantastic - thank you!!

Here is a link to the original pattern:

Whether you are able to crochet one? Well, that's up to you. I can't help - crocheting is not in my skill set.

Leave the stencils paint-y. There are a few videos on YouTube about how to clean them - Murphy's Oil Soap and gel oven cleaner seem to be the most popular. Mostly I just leave them - I try to print the reverse image on the same large sheets I am rolling my brayer clean but there's still a build-up of paint.

So last night I decided to try to clean my brayer and I soaked it in Citra-Solv. It kinda sorta worked - I still had to scrape with my fingernails. I will try the oven cleaner next.

I'll let you know how the oven cleaner works - stay tuned.
