Thank you from me too - I am such a novice at this "glass stuff" and am grateful for all of the advice and encouragement I receive here.

Lovely piece and an amazing story to go with it. I have yet to buy a mould like this one although I will soon (I hope).

Original picture and how I simplify it to make it into something possible to make 12cm (about 5 inches) square.

Beach huts at Herne Bay in Kent, UK.

This has been made for the same person as the other Maldon picture tile. Her mother's name is Dawn (hence the name of the boat) and she was a work colleague of mine before she retired and moved to Maldon.

I have made some alterations to the original picture using glass pens that are cured in a domestic oven. The lady I made this for is now away, so I will not see her until August 22nd.

Thanks for your support - I think I am going to make what I like in future, anyway. It is very difficult to make things that are exactly like, rather than inspired by, a particular place. This is especially true when I am working on a tile 12cm (approximately 5 inches) square.

She wanted the balastrade not a wall and the hedges look like lumps of glass rather than hedges. I cannot refire it as it will all go flat as I already fired it twice so that I could add the tree which I had made separately. So I think I will have to start again.
