Yes, I like the idea of these monthly challenges...a theme helps me FOCUS! Now I need to brainstorm to see if I can come up with something for this month. Fun!

I love it...this is so fun! It's a wonderful example of a "happy accident" that creates an unexpected end result that turns out perhaps better than you imagined. Go Super Butchie!

Wow! That's a lot of fill-stitching! It turned out really cool.

Nice! It looks awesome. And I LOVE the lettering...what stitches did you use?

Hi! Complete Craftster newbie in the house...and this is my first Craftster challenge! I found out about it over on Feeling Stitchy, and I wanted to join the fun.

This is a picture of my Mother-in-law when she was wee one in a little sailboat her father -an avid sailor - built for her. I printed it on sturdy cardstock and added the sun and color washes with watercolor pencils. I used 2 strands of floss for all the stitching.

Incredible miniature work! I love this idea - very unique. And this kind of quilting I could do.
9  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Pinback buttons on: March 05, 2013 09:39:11 AM
I also have a rather large collection of pinbacks that I collected since high school, and my boys each have a small collection of enamel pins they gathered during our travels. What I did was make small wood frames and stretched black canvas tight over them & stapled it to the back of the frame. That worked for awhile, until the weight of the pins(and multiple moves) started weakening the frames & stretching the fabric. Back to the drawing board!

What I might try now is putting some thin padding covered with fabric over bulletin boards...but I haven't actually tried it to see if it would work. I would love some other ideas too!

Great thread - great ideas! I have a bunch of maps too. I love to decoupage with them. There's also a lot of ideas floating around on pinterest.
