So, I sat down to make myself a wallet today so I would have something while I was in NY to show my Baltimore pride (moving there until at least September)! I am so happy with how it came out. The zipper pocket is supposed to be so hard, but it came out so good since I was so patient. 6 credit card slots; 2 large, open slip pockets and 1 zippered pocket. And a fold-over strap that velcros it shut. My passport fits, along with all my cards, money and even my phone and a few keys (car, house). Just had to share since I was so proud! :-) I used the tutorial on this site (and of course I cannot find it to save my life), but it was very detailed and so easy to understand. I didn't use vinyl or a stabilizer. I interfaced everything except the card slots and I used 2 additional pieces of fabric a little bit heavier than the cotton in between the 2 large pieces and for the strap.
So, there is no iPad pictured because my mother said I couldn't have it until I had a case for it! LOL So, this is what I came up with. The interior is a really soft, fuzzy fabric to keep it from getting scratched. The front is a large pocket, almost as big as the bag, then there are 2 smaller pockets. One is padded for a cell phone or camera, the other is credit card/money sized. The bag is padded with foam and a little bit of quilting batting, for some plush. Of course, it's Ravens fabric! This is the 2nd thing I've ever made, in the bag department...and I'm only about 75% happy with it.
My grandmother wanted a bag that she could use when she went to the doctors and such on rainy days. She ALWAYS used an umbrella, so she wanted something that would keep it from getting everything else wet (xrays, referrals, etc) THIS is what I came up with. I am IN LOVE with the ducky fabric and may make something for myself with it haha. The front has a large pocket, almost as tall as the bag. On the inside, there is a small ducky pocket and on the left of the bag, on the inside, there is a pocket that is the whole length of the bag, lined in clear plastic (to keep her umbrella from getting all her stuff wet). She loves it and so do I! I may need one of these, but that means I'll have to start carrying an umbrella! :-P
