21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: 16" circs vs. 29" circs on: August 07, 2005 12:06:49 PM
It could be possible to use the 29's, only if you use the "magic loop" method.

FYI, there are such things as 16" circulars...you can usually find them in your smaller local yarn shops.

Does anyone know of a tutorial for a figure 8 cast on?   and what is the purpose of it?

I've seen it for a few sock patterns and was just curious.

28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: long tassely type things... on: July 21, 2005 08:45:44 AM
Yes, those are tassles:-)

All you have to do is cut yarn to desired length and tie them on the ends of your scarf, or whatever it is you want them on.

Sometimes it helps if you use a crochet hook to pull them through.
29  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Typepad Bloggers?? on: July 21, 2005 07:42:58 AM
I recently posted a post in the "who has a knitting blog" but I only recieved one reply.

The question was:

How do you add those pretty bottons on your sidebars?   If you know, would you be kind enough to walk me through it.

I thought I had it down, but all that shows up is the link instead of the picture!
30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pick up and knit? on: July 20, 2005 09:35:13 PM
Oh, I know.  But just imagine a rectangle shape with the live sts on top, and the pick up sts on either side...to pick up sts on the left side, I really have to stretch my work way out of shape.
