Have you tried www.knitpicks.com?  There yarn is pretty inexpensive and I believe they have superwash wool.

I listen to the TV, unless I'm in the car...it's all about Jack Johnson, U2, Rolling Stones, Beatles or Elton John...hell, I just have the iPod on shuffle!

You can't go wrong with Koigu yarn!

I love the two circular method!

And, my all time fave book...Sensational Knitting, it's a must have, really!

It looks like it would run approx. $90 (US) considering it said it was 45 pounds.

Not that I'm a sock pro....but I would definately advise that you start from toe up, just seems to make sense.  Then maybe increase (M1) in the ankle area....where then you can incorperate your own design (ribbing, and so forth).

Good Luck, And if anyone does have a pattern I'm curious to see it.  I'm sure its fairly simple.

Just one question....When you pull up the sock, is it a snug fit?

Here's a slew of socks...pick-your-sock!

I used the royea site (Socks 101) when I learned...though, I used 5 needles instead of the 4 shown in the pics.

Have fun and happy sock knitting.
