4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My first band flyer - I had to post it! on: October 29, 2005 06:11:36 AM
Hello nice people.
A nice friend asked me if I could design an "off-beat southern" style flyer for a bunch of bands coming to town that are all spooky southern indie rock sounding.....so with a few ideas and drinks later,  this is the result, and he's very happy with it - yay!

Inspired by Dead Can Dance's song "The Carnival".

My intent was to use fun images against a strategically placed geometic background on 17x24 canvas.

(my 3 favorite Fabulous Freaks of the piece)

*I hope these photos NOW show enough detail!*

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / I lost my scissors, etc! Have you stopped making your project because of it? on: September 25, 2005 12:01:25 PM
I'm a fairly organized person being an anal retentive virgo and everything, but man I've been looking for my exacto knife for the past 2 weeks! (sure I could buy another one, but when I do, I JUST KNOW it will suddenly re-appear as usual just like everything I loose) So... If anyone else lost something and its preventing you from finishing a REALLY AWESOME project, take a load off and tell your story here!
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pulp fiction lamps! come one come all! on: September 23, 2005 06:29:40 PM
they took a while to make, but they're pretty fun to look at, hopefully Quentin would be proud!!

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Did anyone think of this yet: Stenciling onto Iron On Fabric Material on: September 21, 2005 01:30:00 PM
(instead of printing an image on it)
I don't know whether to post this on stenciling or iron-ons, but I just had an idea(since the iron on fabric for inkjet printer sheets don't work in my printer, and I still want to salvage them) To first cut out a shape for a stencil, iron it on a bag or something, and then STENCIL onto it with washable fabric paint...or am I talking out of my ass?
