Hey everybody,

Don't forget - the super-duper awesome Punk Rock Craft Fair is THIS WEEKEND!!!!

We've been workin' on this a long time, so come out and show some love!!

We've got different acts and different vendors both days including: a Sultry Savage burlesque show, a wrestling show by the Southwestern Wrestling Alliance, the dominatrix/stand-up comedian Widow Centauri, 4 kick ass bands, appearances by Buttons the 15 foot sock monkey & the San Diego Derby Dolls and more....  PLUS lots of underground arts and crafts by more than 50 vendors!!

PS - We have lots of great give-aways and prizes both days too!!  I hope to see ya there!!

Here are some pix of the way groovy clay n' tin monster box that Writer78 sent me:

Can you believe that she rolled out each an every one of his "hairs" individually from clay!!??  I love it to death and have it sitting on my desk where I can look at it - it's so dang cute!! Still haven't decided what to put in his belly yet.. maybe cool looking stamps that I pull off of stuff for future craftiness.

Super duper huge thanks to writer78 for being such an AWESOME craft diva, and for bringing be into the world of swaps!!! I love my monster!!

4  Re: 2005 Completed Costumes Scrapbook (completed projects with pictures go here) in Halloween Costumes by DevilDoll on: November 02, 2005 12:42:00 AM
I was "Cleopatra" last night.  Not the most crafty costume, I'll admit.  But I'm kind of proud of myself because I came up with the idea while driving in my car and pulled it all together out of crap I own in 20 minutes! (wig, super-black eye makeup, Egyptian serpent necklace, random clothes)

It's hard to see, but the eye makeup was pretty fly, if I do say so myself Roll Eyes

6  Re: In memory of my friend Melissa in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by DevilDoll on: September 14, 2005 09:44:41 AM
Thanks for the well wishes everyone.  Melissa didn't want an actual funeral service, but we (her pals) organized kind of a DIY memorial service for her so we could be together and swap stories about better times. The book got passed around and people seemed to enjoy it. Another friend had made a big collage of family & friend photos that had some nice pictures of her too.  I made a little programme for folks to take home, so everyone would have a momento.

Melissa's birthday is in October, and she was diagnosed right after her birthday last year. We've decided to have a birthday party for her this year too, just like always.

I woud like to show that book to her mom one day - I think she would really like it - but now is not the time.  As you can imagine, it's been an incredibly difficult time for her. Right now it would only upset her.

Thanks agian for all the kind words. I'm touched by everyone's kindness and compassion.  I'm also glad to hear that folks have been inspired to start similar projects - it really is a nice way to "re-live" happy times and then share them with others.  As you probably already know, craftin' is *great* therapy.

7  Re: Show me your craft "room"!! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by DevilDoll on: August 05, 2005 12:22:54 AM
My craft room is always a mess - I start out at the table but eventually I usually move down to the floor. As the hours pass I gather more and more stuff around me to use until it is total chaos...

(and yes, the big round thing at the end of the bed is a real disco ball!!)

Here's my fave room on another day with a diiferent assortment of stuff, but the same size mess...

8  Re: Magazine ads - looking for suggestions on where to advertise in Crafty Business Discussion by DevilDoll on: June 09, 2005 11:17:55 PM
BTW, Here's the actual ad I made for Bust... I know it's not perfect, but I'm not exactly a Photoshop genius, so I'm pretty happy with it. I went through like five totally different ideas before deciding on this.
