31  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Inchie House Swap - Gallery! on: August 19, 2013 06:31:56 AM
Prepare your fingers to hit the 'THIS ROCKS' button.  Get your drool bibs.  Cause this house designed and created by YOUPIDOU for Woodbury Woods is...  what is it fellow craftsters???  I'm lacking for adjectives.

Inside the envelope is this along with an architectural plan on how to construct

I can tell how cool something is by the husband's reaction.  "MINE.  MINE.  MINE."  He sounded like the seagulls in Finding Nemo.  He quickly read the directions and found the glue.

The inside is fully designed with various elements designed to be viewed from the open windows and door:
Can you see:
the kitty cat on the table?
The bookshelves with the ladder?
The woven rug on the wooden floor?
The strand of prayer flags?
the couch with a quilt?

The stained glass is truly a work of art.  Check this out with the light shining through.

See the thatched roof?  That's all individual pieces of thread.  And the cedar shakes?  Again, all individual pieces of real wood.

A wooden ladder.  A rope swing.  Again, all crafted meticulously.

Youpidou, I can't thank you enough for this amazing piece of art.  Yep. It is one of the coolest things ever made for me.

edit to add:
HAH!  The 'Welcome' sign on the door is so tiny, I can only read it in the photos.  Plus other items.  I keep going back to the real treehouse and looking at more stuff.  Incredible level of detail Youpidou.

Okay, I think I am going to start over with package 2 and include everything I've done so far with package 3. So, that one might seem a bit over the top, but I really want to send everything as one package. It will make perfect sense when you see it.
Dharma - I cracked up when I read this!  You is funny.

I sent the same inchie house to each of my partner on Monday morning.

My chin is down on the floor.  Yoopidou - I can not even begin to tell you what a cool rockin craftster you are.  And I'm guessing that FancyButch and Cackle are going to be needing some eye-drops when their eyes go bugging as they open their envelopes.  I will begin construction tonight my dearest most crafty swap partner.

Yeah.  That Ayanared does some amazing work.  And that 'made with love' puts a smile on my face.  I am lucky to have one of her patches too.  Happy dance  Cheesy Grin

Watson - I really like your edge stitching, how wonky it is!  I find it's not easy to do wonky and your stitches and how you've turned the fabric are gorgeous.  Love it.  And all those french knots... yowza.  That's patience.  Yep.  Excellent way to wrap the pipe cleaners as tree trunks.  Very creative.

As for the kitty patch.  I keep forgetting about patches that aren't 'rectangular'.  It give me all sorts of ideas...

Hi Pardners - I'm not going to make a needlebook nor include needles nor stuffing.  But I certainly wouldn't protest receiving them  Cheesy
And as for the kits, I'm assuming that anything goes.  Just that whatever I send out is something I'm proud of and would like to receive myself.  Sound good?
Happy day making tons and tons of basil pesto today.  Yum.  The freezer is loading up for the winter with decadent deliciousness.  Maybe I will stuff my patches with basil.  Just kidding!

I've been off the grid for a couple of days so it was great to read everyone's posts!  I especially love all the 'failures' and 'must add more' battles  Roll Eyes  Cause unfortunately... that's my process and I'm sticking to it!  Love it and can't wait to see everyones patches.  I haven't started yet alas but one of these days I'm gonna wake up and it's gonna be a patch making day!

ok so now Im concerned that I've been too narrow in my idea. Im working on 3 houses that are all very similar but with little diferences in the details.  Im super stoked with the finished result but you all sound like you are making 3 very diferent houses! Im worried Undecided
Bushbaby - it's my plan also to make 4 similar/identical houses.  Of course... one is for me  Cheesy

Dear Crafty Boy - I too started sewing young.  I made many fun things.  And still do.  I am very excited that you are a FEATURED PROJECT!  I was a featured project in the last round.  I did a seahorse.  I was bummed that I was replaced until I saw just how wicked cool is your Pac Man Ghost.  Congratulations Crafty Boy!
