Hi Halogenspock, and Hi to everyone here. I'm a newbie from New Zealand.
I'm looking forward to learning some handy tips about all sorts of craft topics.

I've just joined a learn to sew class and am going to make a summery top in chartreux green cotton viole Newlook 6871.
I'll be adding sleeves but the wrist cuffs will be narrow rather than puffy, and the length will be longer, a tunic length to wear with trousers/pants and jeans.

It's summer here and we've had some lovely hot days when a top like this would have been perfect! light and airy and very cool because of the floaty viole fabric and loose-fitting style.

Up til now I've been doing all my sewing by hand. My husband gave me a beginner's sewing machine - Brother BM 2600 and I am looking forward to learning how to use it. Smiley
