11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A very easy shrug on: October 07, 2013 07:52:29 AM
Hi!! This is a little lycra shug I made to make my cowl top appropriate for some more chilly days! It is as easy to sew as the top. The pattern is a simple rectangle, I have seen many shrugs like this in rtw stores. There are many tutorials on the web, one of them is this http://somethingtocraftabout.com/?p=555
I made 6 pleats at the bottom of the sleeves and added wide doubled bands, I think this way the shug looks a little more well finished. I have made loads of these shrugs and i have them always in my purse whenever the temprature is a little bit more low.

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A very easy drape top on: October 07, 2013 07:47:52 AM
I made this lycra top using a rtw as a guide, it has only one seam at the back and it is very easy to make. I have made it approximately ten times so far and I sure will make it again. It has only one seam at the back, a hem at the bottom and a finishing  at the back. The whole construction takes less than one hour if you are good at sewing. I promise to post a tutorial as soon as I find enough internet time!

13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My favorite dress on: September 21, 2013 02:58:43 AM
I made this last summer and it is my favorite dress I have ever made. I used the dress pattern 125 from november burda 2007, this pattern is just perfect: it has adorable little sleeves with gussets, and a very flattering neckline with pleats at the arms, so feminine and retro!! The pattern called for a petticoat but I didnt add it because I wanted to reduce the vintage look. I used a stretch satin with a snake texture (it isnt visible at the photos but it is very pretty).

15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / purple and black fortune cookie purse on: September 11, 2013 12:59:06 AM
Make this bag and good fortune will bestow upon you

I made this using this extremely easy tutorial I found on the weekend designer's page  http://wkdesigner.wordpress.com/2008/08/30/fortune-cookie-purse/ . I used wool fabric and ric rac for this but I have made other fortune cookies as well, using different materials and making different closures, handles etc. The conctruction is very easy and the result is very cute! It also brings good fortune and it is the cutest idea for little gifts!!

I hope you like it and use this tutorial to make a fortune cookie for yourself!!!
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Mustard japanese knot purse on: August 20, 2013 05:50:27 PM
I love japanese knot purses!!

For this I didn't use the usual pattern but cut two U-shaped pieces of fabric. The bag closes with the two handles. The construction is more clear here:

I used an adorable linen fabric in the most lovely shade of mustard.

I hope you like it!!

17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Twisted dress on: August 18, 2013 03:39:45 PM
This is one of my favorite garments! I used a very thin drapey lycra which was hard to sew with my simple machine. I wish I had a serger:)

18  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Mint dress on: August 02, 2013 02:16:02 PM
I just finished this cutie, the pattern is from a burda magazine. I love to make dresses for little girls:)

19  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Orange halter dress on: July 25, 2013 01:56:16 PM

20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Chocolate jersey jumpsuit on: July 13, 2013 03:11:18 PM
Hi everybody:) This is made of brown jersey, it looks like an overall but it is seperate top and pants. I used a burda magazine pattern for the top, which I made long enough and added a tunnel with elastic at the bottom: when it is worn the hem goes to the waist and the top has a soft bubble look. I finished the upper of the top with a doubled band. I also added a narrow strap which ties at the front connection point. For the pants I used as a pattern guide an old pair of rtw pants which I unstiched. I widened a bit the pants downwards gathered the hem and finished them with a doubled band. It was a very easy and quick project. It is also very easy to wear and comfortable.
