1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Inchie House Swap - Gallery! on: September 06, 2013 02:04:20 AM

Here's a picture of the neighborhood in it's entirety!  From left to right, we have Sarcastra, NinaPrettyBallerina and Loves2Experiment.

Here's a deconstructed view of Sarcastra's inchie house.

I really love the tiny little details in this little house!  The brick pattern on the side continues uninterrupted all the way around the house, to a degree that is seriously like 1/32 of an inch wide!  It's very impressive, and the color palette gives it a smart classic feel.  Very nice!

Here's a deconstructed view of NinaPrettyBallerina's inchie house.

Here's the deconstructed view of the art gallery side.

Here's the deconstructed view of the residential side.

Here's the tiny line of trees.

Here's NinaPrettyBallerina's inchie house!  It's a duplex, a combination apartment/art gallery.  It looks like a lot of the details are in watercolor, and the paper has nice texture.  My favorite part of this little guy is the tiny windows you can peer through to see the little art gallery's wares.  My second favorite part is the line of trees that accompanied this, it really spruced up the neighborhood!

Here's a deconstructed view of Loves2Experiment's inchie house.

And last but certainly not least is Loves2Experiment's inchie house!  The textures she packed into this house are great!  The walls are a crinkly blue, with a layered brown roof and bold colored windows and door.  Also there is a quote on the side, "Where thou art, that is home - Emily Dickinson".  Also on the back there are tiny little pennant wedges that really compliment the colors and give it a flair of celebration.

I really can't express how incredible these little houses are!  You all outdid yourselves!

intriguing!  now i'm uber curious about the architectural piece you're referring to (care to share?) Smiley  would love to see the tiny house that you're planning to construct!

...I was thinking the city hall from Back to the Future.  I have an alternate idea though, I just have to figure out how to make it work.

I'm thinking of tossing in my hat, but then I started thinking about iconic houses to use as inchies.

Then I found an iconic piece of architecture that is too cool for this.  Problem being is that it will have to be several inchies put together to work.  So is a slightly larger than normal inchie house acceptable?  It will be scaled to exist within a town of inchie houses.  Nothing too major, just three inchies wide and two inchies tall.

I'll even share the template after I make it.

Hi!  I received this awesome ATC from KittyHerman today!  It's Prisma color pencils.

it's from the category of "cute, but incredibly gross" which is literally derived from when my dog wants to lick my face- it's adorable, but I don't want it anywhere near me.  And I can say that I've definitely seen this exact look of "oh, hey there" on my dog's face after she's left a nice treat on the floor.

KittyHerman also included in this package a "foamy Phil" sticker/card from the Garbage Pail Kids- which is a really cool blast of nostalgia (in my younger years I remember viciously upsetting my sister by merely suggesting her doll was a garbage pail kid yielding screams of "It's a CABBAGE PATCH doll!  That's gross!" Also, I wasn't aware of there ever actually being a GPK card with my actual name, so that's pretty darn cool too.)

Very fun package!  Thank you for letting me relive those memories!  Also, the anthropomorphic poo!

Hi!  My name is Phil, I'm 29, I live in the desert, I have an adorable whirling dervish of a dog, I am watching Bates Motel, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones, I just got finished with a community theatre production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (I died in the play, in case you were wondering), I enjoy innappropriate humor and living under the guise that if you just keep separating tidbits with commas that you can make one giant run-on sentence look like a small paragraph, I've been offended exactly one time in my life (and because I'm so wonderfully connected to reality, it was a video game) so please feel free to include nudity, violence, politics or religion if you feel so inclined.

But enough ABOUT me, here's what I would like:

-Antelopes
-Or antelopes with blinged out horns (I don't know why, but the thought of a antlered animal with Mister T's necklace collection splayed out on their antlers seems funny.)
-Inappropriate stick figures
-8 bit (I love retro video games, so anything 8 bit and pixelated would be appreciated!)
-Stuffed animals in the wild
-Cute, but incredibly gross
-Horror movie victims (just before their imminent death)
-Pop culture references
-Doctor Faustus
-Dogs behaving badly
-Internet memes
-Theatre
-Hamlet/Shakespeare
-Jewelry
-Zombies
-Puns
-Artists choice

Here's my themes:
-Antelopes
-Or animals with blinged out horns (I don't know why, but the thought of a antlered animal with Mister T's necklace collection splayed out on their antlers seems funny.)

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap - March 2013 GALLERY! on: April 04, 2013 10:53:51 AM
I received this outstanding ATC from WideEyeLife under the artists choice theme.  It's Dorian Grey!  Because I'm borderline illiterate, I had to give a cursory glance at Wikipedia, but the story seems really interesting, and this ATC may just have broadened my literary horizons.  The picture most definately doesn't do it justice, as there are delicate details that lead me to believe WideEyeLife has both shrunk the kids and made them detail her ATCs.  Great details, expressive colors and definately a fun ATC!  Thank you WideEyeLife!
10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Playing card style Hamlet on: April 02, 2013 01:46:26 PM
It's 9x12 watercolor paper.  I started out with a 8.5x11 sheet of printer paper, and then transferred it to the 9x12 by way of a cheap little lightbox.  The ink drifts away a little with watercolor paper, so it's not as sharp as I would prefer, but I think the colored pencils really grab onto the texture more.
