I'll be moving to Las Cruces soon so that I can go to NMSU.  I'd really like to get to know a few people before school starts so that I don't feel completely out of place.  So if you're there please let me know.  A girl can never have enough crafty friends!  Oh, anyone know if there is a SnB in Cruces?  Thanks!

So, I was thinking...its my senior year and I dont have anything crafty showing it.  What would be better than a C/O 2005 swap for us seniors? If there aren't enough people maybe a C/O 05/04 swap? We could decorate t shirts, make key chains, pillows...any of that good stuff.  As much as Id love to organize something like this I don't know if I could handle it all.  Is anyone interested in swaping/organizing something like this? What do you think? 

Its finally that "terrific" time of the school year again...research papers. Yuck.  At least I'm a senior which means I get to pick my own topic.  I want to do something fashion/craft history related but I have to pick something I can find enough (at least 25) sources on.  It would be super easy if I could use the internet...but of course...english teachers hate to make anything easy...so my sources have to be from books, magazines, newspapers and other print sources. Thats where all of you brilliant craftsters come in!  I would completely and entirely love anyone who could help me out by letting me know about any great places to find my info.  I want my topic to be something like 'the evolution of women's fashion in America' but the teach will probably make me narrow it down.  If I have to do that I'd love to explore the changing of dress/skirt lengths over the years.  Do you have a magazine/newspaper article you could lead me to?  Read a book that might be helpful?  Has anyone done a paper like this who wouldn't mind helping me out? Please let me know!  Thanks in advance for any help you all are willing to offer! 

I have to admit, I really love my new purse  .  It was actually pretty easy to make. Its just a basic bag with the ribbon and bow sewn onto it.  It only took me about 3 hours (not including the time it took to make the bow) and $5 to make.  Im a freak when it comes to all things green so when I saw the ribbon at walmart I just knew I had to have it.  I actually wanted pink polka dotted ribbon when I started to plan out the bag but I couldnt find any that I liked. But the green worked so all in all Im happy.  If anyone feels like trying to make something like this and needs help just ask  

next year ill be a senior in high school...ive been doing a lot of serious thinking about what i want to major in so that i can decide on what school i want to go to...i always thought i was going to be a teacher but lately ive been seriously thinking about crafting, specifically sewing, for a living....i know it would make me completely happy to be doing that on a daily basis...ive known how to so for around five years but its been a nonstop thing for the last two...id just like to know what kind of opportunities there are out there for doing this...i dont think i really want to go into apparel design or even own my own business...so i was wondering what other kind of fields are there to go into?...what types of majors are there when it comes to this sort of thing?...hopefully some of you can help me out with this...any and all help is completely appreciated...thank s!

ive been wanting to make a bag for my grandparents because they go and play bingo a lot...you know, its like a drawstring bag but the outside has slots for bingo markers n such...i was wondering if anyone has ever made one and could tell me how to go about this...or if anyone has ever seen a tutorial on the net or even found a pattern for it anywhere i would be so greatfull...thanks tons!

I saw a girl the other day wearing a skirt made entirely out of ties...I couldnt get away with wearing something like that but i thought it was genious!...has anyone ever seen anything like that?...i really liked how the length of it was uneven but still looked great...it looked pretty easy to do...if anyone ever decides to try something like this id love to see pics!

I've been working with Simplicity's Soft Bags Sewing Patterns For Dummies.These patterns are oh-so-great! I have to admit this was the first time I used a pattern and didn't wing most of it cause I have a habit of getting aggrivated at the directions and end up making them up as I go. I made a bag with pattern E and it turned out okay but I think they real reason I didn't like it that much was cause of the fabric I used. Then yesterday I tried pattern C...I LOVE IT! It took up most of my day but I think now that I have the hang of it I can make one in a few short hours. I had the feeling it was missing something and couldn't decide how I wanted to finish it. Then today while I was checking out  artzyfartzy's wonderful website www.fashioncompassi on.com (which I go to at least once a day cause you never know when shes gonna have something oh-so-spiffy-and-new) I saw the "You're Breaking My Heart Bag" which I've been dying to get but been broke cause of Christmas n all. So I made an attempt at making myself a purse kind of like it. I don't think it turned out too bad...not anywhere near as cute as artzyfartzy's...but good.  I just found some heart and bandage clip art, traced it onto felt, cut it out, glued it together, then sewed it on to make sure itd stay. This was the first time I've ever used felt and I think Ill be working with it a lot more now! Now I've just got to get to work on all those other purse patterns....*sigh*...I love Christmas break
