1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Babe Fiberstarter vs Production on: July 06, 2007 10:50:55 PM
Hey,
I was wondering if anyone in the know could tell me the differences between the babe fiberstarter and Production wheels.  I relly want to get a spinning wheel and have been looking around... i couldnt afford anything beyond a babe unless i find something used so i'm figuring these are my main options.  Any advice on single tredle vs double tredle would also be appreciated!
THANKS Smiley

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: How did YOU learn to knit? on: August 27, 2005 12:39:20 PM
I learned from a Kids Knitting book, the one by melanie something or other, that was a very good teaching aid cause its target audience is so young

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Lelah's done! (now with PATTERN) on: August 24, 2005 03:49:26 PM
I like the idea of making it into a dress.... it would be great to even make the lace just continue down and then sew in an underlayer in a contrasting or complimentary color.... hmmmm now I really wanna make this!! maybe make it in black and have a silky white underlayer underneath it, the lace stitches would really pop!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting in public-- the positive side on: August 24, 2005 03:38:33 PM
I would say that I have had both positive and negative experiences... I have gotten great responses from people when I knit in the waiting room and while I'm sitting w/ my mom durring her treatments, the nurses and ohter patients and family members and staff always ask what I am doing and fellow knitters usually come up and talk to me about knitting which is refreshing cause I dont have any knitting friends, that said I do sometimes get some grief from my friends about it, I'm a college athlete and take my knitting w/ me on long bus trips a lot of the time and sometimes the poke fun at me, cause its not the "coolest" thing to do... according to them at least... or at least they say that till they see me wearing something totally cool and original that I knitted Wink
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Who's excited for new Magnits and Knitty? on: August 24, 2005 03:30:45 PM
I definitly can't wait, especially for knitty and spun cause I made my first sweater from Knitty (Tempting) and my first pair of socks from Spun(Summer Ankle Socks)... they always seem to have something cool and/or original, though I am in the same boat as most of you that have too many projects to handle!!
