3  Re: FO: Lace Camisole From Vintage Knits in Knitting: Completed Projects by dukeslax44 on: July 29, 2005 10:32:05 AM
Thanks for all the comments.... I would definitely reccomend buying the book... there are soo many patterns that I actually see myself knitting... to fix the bagginess around the waist I threaded a ribbon through the eyelets around the waist and tied it in the back.... so that it is cinched a little bit below the bustline... that made it fit much much better.... if I were to knit it again I would do it in the round, I suck at seaming.  I used KnitPicks Shine in Blush and really like the yarn... its sooo soft and cheap. The pattern actually wasnt that difficult.... the small needle size made it a bit harder but definitely doable. I will try to post a larger picture.... last time I was having trouble getting the bigger pictures to show up but hopefully it will work this time!!

4  Re: bookmark swap no. 2! in The Swap Gallery by dukeslax44 on: July 26, 2005 12:21:15 PM
I just received my last bookmarks today so here are pictures of all of them... THey are all soooo awesome!!! This was such a great 1st swap!!!

These are from CraftyZary and are sooo pretty in my favorite colors!! The first is a really pretty lime green fabric with a print of girls that all have pink on them! THe second is my initial in glitter on lime green felt!

This is from Avian Flight and it has my name in lime green and pink Smiley and has pictures of my favorite animated characters ( I love animation I am an Animation major in college Smiley )

And last, but certainly not least!! These I got today from ducktapediva and they are gorgeous, the first has an Indian theme and reminds me of one of my good friends who is from India who I hardly get to see anymore and the second has an Asian theme which I love sooo much.... I don't know how she knew because I don't think I put it in my info but I love all things Asian and have all my life... my cousins lived in Japan and ever since I was little they would bring back beautiful Asian inspired craft items for me to make and enjoy.... I even have a Japanese Kanji tatooed on my back! I love it!!

(edited b/c one of my pics didnt work... I think i fixed it tho)
PS Sorry for the crappy pics... I kinda took em in a hurry... if i get teh chance I will post better ones!)

Ever since the beginning of the summer I have been crafting up a storm... especially knitting! I have finished way old UFO's and started and finished other projects too... i have done more in the 2 months since I have been home than I have the entire 2 years I have been knitting!! I think this is in part to my joining craftster cause all of you craftsy gals have inspired me sooo much!!

UFO's Finished (or significantly worked on) this summer:
Knitty's tempting: started in December, finished in the end of May

Lion Brand Chenelle Thick and Quick Knitted throw: Started last mothers day... almost finished

Interrupted Rib Baby Blanket (from the Knit List) started November last year... almost done

Objects started and finished this Summer:

Soda Can Covers:

One Skein Wonder:

Funny Yarn Felted Clutch:

My first socks!! From spun, the summer ankle socks!

Works in progress:

Lace Camisole from Vintage Knits:

2nd One Skein Wonder, in yarn left over from my tempting:

Scarf:

Sorry for the extremely pic heavy post! But is anyone finding themselves particularly crafty this summer?

Edit: I tried making the pictures smaller... I think that may help more people see them, though you cant see the detail as well as in the larger ones... if you want to see the begger pictures you can go to my webshots website listed below

6  Re: Funky Yarn Felted Clutch - NOW WITH PATTERN! :-) in Knitting: Completed Projects by dukeslax44 on: July 13, 2005 02:32:11 PM
Here's my felted clutch!! I L O V E love it!!! I sewed a zipper in it so my stuff doesnt fall out... which was a great feat for me because I am incapable of working a sewing machine and kinda suck at hand sewing.... nevertheless it turned out A OK.

and the inside... my zipper Smiley and my stuff

8  Re: Belt de Jour: Completed in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by dukeslax44 on: May 26, 2005 08:19:49 AM

This was the first cable I ever did and I think it is a great learning project for cables but I havent really worn it, also need to find a better belt buckle- i couldn't find one i liked.  This was also the first SnB project I completed  Cheesy and the first non baby blanket project... I made it with Lambs Pride Worsted weight and just used some that was left over from my failed attempt at a felted mp3 player case, it didnt take much yarn.
